Are 22''s too big?

I'm currently shopping around for a set of rims for my car, I was going to go for 20'' rims but people keep suggesting I get 22''s. I don't want my car to have obnoxiously large rims that look awkward. Any thoughts?

there are alot on here that have 22's but for me to big. i've read to many stories of handeling problems and rough rides. not enough tire between the road and the rim.

20's look perfect with the drop kits that take out 1-1.5 inches and still have a great ride...Look below 20's

Considering the original concept car had 22's & 21's, they are definately not too big.

Exactly. The concept car everyone fell in love with had 22s on the rear, 21s on the front. The concept Camaro was also a little smaller than the real car.

Let me illustrate why 20-22 wheels work well on the Camaro. The Camaro has HUGE tires. They are nearly 29 inches tall. Here is a photo of three OEM wheels. 20" Camaro wheel, 19" Corvette wheel, 17" Firebird wheel. Look how tall the Camaro tires are, by comparison. The other two wheels have 26" tires on them.

Bigger tires means bigger wheels look proportionally "right".

It is a perfect illustration

Funny fact: The sidewall profile on the 20" Camaro wheel is exactly the same as the one on the chrome Firehawk wheel. Both tires are 275/40 in size, just one is 17" and the other 20".
