Talking

Union Pipefitter, but due to this wonderful economy and only getting about 5 months of work on average a year I am now going to school as a Graphics Designer and currently being offered a good job as a Dialysis Machine Technician(think I'm gonna take it)
These last five years have been so hard on the construction trades and with the unions going under I have decided to totally get out and do something different while the "getting out" is good, This country is giving WAY too much work away to folks that come here illegally (disclaimer-I am not trying to start something, that is why I left certain races out of this post, I am basically saying folks that are here illegally are taking a lot our work, and I am speaking on behalf for citizens that are union AND non union)
And to all you Union Electricians I see in here all I can say is - Good luck to you brothers/sisters.........your all gonna need it, I got tired of waiting on luck and decided to go for job security instead.

Cool

Retired, US Navy AMCS/SCPO/E8-21 years, Environmental Inspector-10 years, Construction Inspector-11 years. Just sitting around the house.
Or, as my wife puts it since she works, I am a "house husband".
Just retired the first of June, so far so good.

I used to work for a shipping company and my wife worked for a building consultancy company, my wife lost her job in August 09 and I lost my job in September 09, just after we bought a new car (Our first new anything, our old car was falling apart, so we got a nice new Mazda CX7, then got redundant)

We have both been unable to find new jobs and have both gone to school to get quallified, I doing a NZ diploma of business managment and my wife is going for her acrhiceture degree, it sucks, and we are living week to week, trying to make it last till we get jobs again.

Sites like this one keep me going, I get to see the car of my dreams in the pics and "talk with" what I am convinced are awesome people, so thanks to Camaro5 and all who post here.
