I never had a 10sec car.............yet, but plan to have one and was told that you never want to use the overdrive gear in drag racing. I could be wrong but 4.10 gears in a car traping over 125mph would cause a shift in 5th for both cars.
Agreed on the OD piece. Not desired. I also missed the L99 part.

Yesterday I called the shop and committed to the cam. So on August 2nd in goes in for Kooks headers,high-flow cats, cam, underdrive pulley, and of course dyno tune. It will be like getting a whole different car again when it is done.
That is going to be a serious improvement. Just add the gears to your "to do" list.

4:10s will be in the spring. Wife would kill me if I added those to the final bill when it comes time to pick it up. Shes a VERY understanding woman but there are limits (unfortunetly) lol

well on stock tire size with 4.10s you should still be able to take 4th gear to 132 to 136mph
raise rev limiter to 6800 and you can take it past 140mph.. should be enough gearing for most people

Just save ur $ imho, pay for one time fee and do everything at once. I did that with my '02 SS. Mods were done at Livernois Motorsports : 4.10 Gears, Kooks 1-3/4" Longtubes with catted connection pipe, Magnaflow 3" catback exhaust, mild Cam, K&N FIPK "CAI" and custom 92 octane dyno tune. I love it & I brought home a brand new car after all that "U only live once, go for it"

Well,I did try to add the gears to the build the other day but due to the shops scheduling they can't fit the gears in to my elotted time. No biggie, makes the wife happier (for now until I set the next "upgrade appointment lol)

If you upgrade an auto to 3.73's would it be wise to do the bushings as well? And if so how much would it cost the complete setup? I live in Louisiana and I do not know of any shops that will do this? Can any one suggest one for me plz?
PM's welcome!!!!!

Thanks

Absolutely, upgrading the bushings requires zero additional labor when done at the same time as the gear swap and really makes a difference. I will PM you the pricing info.

Will you PM me pricing on 4.10's/Bushings for my LS3? I've got a local performance shop that should do the install.

Thanks.
