32yrs old. House paid off no other large bills. Payment is $550 a month and I put down $8k. Just paid off my student loans yesterday. people freak when I tell them I'm a DJ. . . . and yes, it's my full time job.

I would guess that most independant people could afford monthly payments that are 1/10th of your gross monthly income...
