SS bumper swap to a 2LT - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

hey ive wanted a 2SS for a while, i didnt used to care abt power as much before but when i felt it while in a friend's SS, it felt amazing. But just incase if im not availible to get a 2SS, i would get a 2LT because of all the same features EXCEPT the engine, i read on here that you could do a bumper swap? so the 2LT would look exactly like an SS, well except the power.

How much money would it cost to get the bumper swap? Thanks!

I am looking into that right now. To my knowledge it is $350 for the bumper and another $300 to paint it. Call a parts department at a local dealership for all the info.

well i would, but i doubt they would take me seriously, i'll b able to get my license in like 1 and a half month.. sooo yeahh.. u get what im saying?

I did the bumper swap back in March 09 the cost was $350 for the bumper cover from my local dealership, $300 to paint it, and $80 for the lower grille, and mailslot grille.

so then its an SS from every perspective, every feature EXCEPT the engine.

but either way i hope i really get a 2SS, if not then this will b my option =]

oh well u could always get it turbocharged later, i dont have to have that much power. either way my cousin's car will own me haha, he just turned 16 and got his car, nissan gtr. 0-60 3.2 seconds

Just ask around with other folks that have an SS and just do a bumper swap with them, I remember reading in here somewhere that there ARE folks that have the SS and actually hate the SS bumper and are looking for a V6 bumper, just a thought.

Ur friend will be very lucky to make it to 18 years old. I know I'd prob be dead if I had that car when I was 16

i hate the mail slot.... not sure why they put it on the car if it serves no function.
