Obviously it is faster than a whole slew of cars from the 70s and 80s. But when someone goes to buy a new Camaro (V6) they aren't cross shopping and 1989 Corisica... lol or and "83 Cavilier.

Point is: Your car has an impressive engine for what it is, but overall your car is heavy and slow. Just like our little V6s right?? lol. Sorry man, but you asked to be burned back.

Wow... FPATT
To the OP keep in mind that when the 2010 v6 was launched, the mustang didn't have the v6 it has now. The chally needs a diet, and the genesis was just coming around at the same time. Now its just over a year later and the 2011 v6s are just coming off the line. When chevy designed/built this car, they didn't have as close of a competition as they do now with more powerful cars coming out daily. And as others have said, the v6 is a hell of a car, but its not the top dog. Now, that's not to say that gm won't tweak things ad make it even better. But remember that as soon as gm bumps the level up, then ford will top that then someone else will top that and the cycle continues. Another thing to keep in mind is that the majority of camaro buyers don't care about what other cars it can beat on the track or street. The car is marketed with horsepower in mind. Just like when the new mustang v6 came out it had 1 more hp than the 2010 v6 camaro was rated at. That one extra hp sells cars. And in the ongoing battle gm has bumped the power up on the v6 camaro The point is, todays faster car is tomorrows second place. It is a never ending process.

Uh its all a drivers race really. I've beaten two Mustang GTs (the olderish ones) because I can shift faster. The best time I've seen the V6 run on average is a 14.3. Even if a competitor car is faster, say a 13.8, that .5 seconds can be made up in a lot more ways than you think. You could potentially beat a 2011 Stang with a V6, if he spins his tires hard out the hole and shifts too early or too short almost a second of time can pretty easily be made up. Don't forget reaction time either, if you get a good jump you can beat a much faster car.
The V6 brings plenty of power to the fight and with a good driver it can hang with cars that are faster on paper and look 100x better in the process. |

I've raced two different Mustang GTs and only got beat by the second because I chickened out. There were too many other cars out on the interstate and I didn't want to miss my exit. It was close, trust me! I blew the first one away...90 in a 50 zone--oops! This is all new territory for me. FUN!
