The cancelling of the G8 ST really doesn't surprise me.
I think we'd see a Camaro Vert before that thing. (People aren't even buying the current G8!...and that thing is one NICE car!) Horrible marketing is to blame for that though.

What kinda noise you wanna hear? Stop freakin out, if you can afford the car get it. If not dont, thats just the way it goes. Yes the economy is in the crapper but you think this is the first time? Thats the way the economy goes, up and down and around we go. It WILL get better eventually.

I agree with most on here....you are the only one who knows what you can afford. If you can make it work and want the car, then why not buy one, if you can't then don't. Let's be honest how many of us can really afford the cars, trucks, bikes or whatever we buy....we look to see if we can afford the payments, unless you are one of the few that pays cash. I for one am pretty sure I can make a sizeable down payment and get the payments in line with what I want. I am young, and lucky to be able to buy this awesome car.
You only live once, if you can swing it, buy a great product and enjoy it, that is what I will be doing.

Also, I love the new G8 commercial...why is GM trying to compare it to a BMW 5 series? No one cares if it gets one more mile per gallon! Come on GM...I mean seriously. |

Sounds like you're not really a GM fan deep down.
I know I can't afford a new camaro at the moment. Still waiting for an AGR position to open up for me - once that happens I should be home free enough on my finances to be able to afford one. We'll be talking a 40% pay increase. - Xanthos

Any hope for loyal GM owner cash discounts. That might make this car more affordable to more people. I am right on the edge of being able to buy. We bought 2009 traverse in september and need a little time to save down money.

For those of you who think things aren't so bad just keep telling yourself that....I'm sure the 4 million families who lost their homes already would agree with you.

I know how it feels. I'm in construction and I make a decent wage but I am worried about buying simply because of how unstable construction is at the moment.

How about that new Hyundai program that was just announced? Their new Assurance Program guarantees customers that, should they find themselves in the midst of an “unexpected loss of income” during their first year owning a Hyundai vehicle, they can return that car with little to no penalty. So if you lose your job during that first year, you get a "do over" with your new car purchase.
