My mistake. I honestly thought the L99 was 6.0L; perhaps this was based on the G8; but I can't figure out how that number got in my head.

Still, you can try to argue that the L99 is a "green" engine with cylinder deactivation. You might want to duck when you mention city milage though.

With some people, it's easy to tell from first glance what their tastes are. If she agreed to go with you to lunch in the first place, then she might have been prepared for such possibilities from the get-go. If she has any shred of respect or selflessness then she won't judge you based on what you like. And if she does judge you, then she's a waste of your time. I eat the hell out of meat because I am trying to build lean mass and you can't do that if you just eat veggies, but even before that I ate meat - it just tastes good and we are naturally meant to eat it. You think our incisors are meant to cut through broccoli florets all day? :P

Like I said, if she agreed in the first place, then she sounds like a stand-up gal. I have a feeling you'll do alright and tell us the results when it's over.

The smart thing to do in this case, actually, would be to hide your plans to get the Camaro and if she finds out and when she does, be casual about it. What's the big deal? If she turns it into one, kick her to the curb. She seems more extremist over the environment thing than the food thing, so when you go out to lunch, order that roast beef sandwich and if she says anything, tell her that if eating meat is unnatural, have a talk with a pride of lions over in Africa. They think WE torture our prey? Poor cows - right.
