Yea. Which is the first month. After which the one-per-dealer cars should be done (or almost done) so they won't have to constrain them anymore.

Do you honestly believe they will drag out the production of the dealer V6's? They want to get them done as soon as possible for two reasons:
1. Get the Camaros to the dealers ASAP so they can show them off and advertise.
2. Get YOUR V6 Camaro to you.

Everyone knew that every dealer was getting a V6 after the first IDL. Believing or hoping those were going to be made AFTER the sold order V6's was not being very realistic.

Constraints are very frustrating for us all. IMO from doing this for 10 yrs once the factory gets going you'll see them disappear (constraints), as long as there isn't any other hold ups

This thread is a classic example of what can happen when we become TOO accessible with information. (and I hate to say that....)

Remember how people went ballistic when they heard we couldn't build all
V8s?

Now there's hysteria over the V6.

This is what the V6 "constraint" means:

You are a "hypothetical" dealer.

You received 8 Camaros as allocation.

You took 2 sold orders and you have a bunch more on order for stock.

The V6 constraint means "OK -- we're looking at your orders -- and we've already placed your two sold orders -- so now we're looking to place a stock order.........Hmmmm.....you have 4 V6 Stock orders and 4 V8 Stock orders -- so because we have a constraint on V6 -- we're gonna select one of your V8 orders.

That's it.

Please.

Calm down.

Look at the way you're talking to each other!

The word "Camaro" means "friend, pal, or comrade" - let's remember that!

As to those who are trying to protect me from the 'onslaught' -- thank you. I cannot answer every email that I get -- I get at least three dozen a day from the Camaro sites -- that does not include the couple of hundred that I get internally form General Motors -- so I simply can't get to each one.

Thanks Scott. That should calm everyone down.

The "constraint" is only for the orders that the dealer is trying to put in beyond cutomer orders. Customer first -- way to go GM.

Your definition of "Old" is a little different then mine then. The post I quoted was from today at 12:23 PM, only two hours before I quoted it. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm guessing you typed this from your garage...sitting in the seat of the car...before you go back out again?

So from what you are saying the constraint on V6's is for the Stock orders and NOT on the Sold orders..Right?

OK, I can now see that Scott is going to be a worse tease that Number 3. Visiting this forum is going to be so bitter-sweet for the next couple of months. I am going to give my wife a run for her money on the emotional cycle thing.

and i thought it was supposed to be something that eats mustangs

I apologize to Chevy for all those nasty thoughts I had concerning this subject.
If you follow this thread I think you can see why us V6 people would be upset. I appreciate that this information has now been cleared up.
