Continental extreme DWS all season tires

My tire dealer informed me today that the Continental all season tires are still on back-order !
I've been trying to buy a set for over a year now to replace the factory Pirellis on my SS.
I'm going to contact Continental again as these are the tires I want for winter driving.

That blows I was looking at getting a set for myself as well. Guess I will just have to get the Blizzaks and change out every year.

So just how bad are the Pirelli's in the snow? I too am in the snow belt and planned to drive it through winter. I love the traction (dry) they have but would gladly sacrifice some of that for at least some control in the snow as this is my daily driver.

Go to MavisTire.com. He still has some Contis in stock (just verified it before posting). Just last week I ordered and received (in 2 days) 2 - 275/40 R20s for the front. Competitive price too ($254 each + S/H). They look and drive great!

Glad I got my DSWs when I did. They are awesome and literally had no problems getting them. The rears had to be ordered from a different Discount Tire, but they were in within two days.

Got my Conti's from Discount Tire - had to wait a week though as the fronts (245 45 20) were shipped from VA and the rears (315 35 20) were shipped from Pittsburgh. Upgraded to 20x 9 in the front and 20x11 in the rear.. Paid just less than $1k OTD.

Had them on all winter last year here in Chicago... They suck in the snow, but if you know how to correct drive with them in that condition, then it can be done.. You just have to be smart about how you drive the car.

Due to my mods, however... That's totally out and I will be switching to different tires.

I would highly recommend not driving in the snow with the PZero's summer tires are not going to perform well in the cold let alone on snow.

They are out again? I went to discount tire two weeks ago and they had them in stock.

They are terrible if you do not know what to expect. Under about 40 degrees they squeal like no other because they have trouble getting grip. I got pulled over twice because of this. The cop thought I was trying to drift. I was doing about 15 both times just on a sharp turn

But I did drive in medium snow 2 inches and it was rough. I was sliding everywhere, but could go in a straight line pretty good. Corners on the other hand you need a lot of room.

Anything more than 2 inches I didn't even try to get out of my apartment's lot. Just took the day off.

Once I wore down my Pirelli's I swapped to the new General G-Max AS 03 all seasons. The reviews have been excellent so far and they have an excellent tread rating too. But I plan on running Pirelli Scorpions for the winter. And save my all seasons for everything else.
