I've got a Passport Escort 9500ix, and am extremely pleased with it. Well worth the money imo, I drive between college and my house a lot on 71 where everyone goes at least 70-75. There's always the chance you'll get pulled over for 75 in a 65, even though most officers let it slide out in between the two cities. I always get to slow down in time thanks to my detector though, so I don't know if any of them would've given me a ticket

My choice is going to be the Passport 9500ci which is a stealth system like the K40 spoken of in an earlier post. It reviews a little better than the K40.

If you feel your headliner about where the red line is, you will feel a small notch. This is where the wire comes out. You can tuck the power wire all the way to the driver side of the windshield. Then you can tuck it behind the plastic without even taking it off. Remove the fuse cover and the wire will go straight behind the dash and into the area for you to connect the power wire. It took me a grand total of 10 minutes to install it and I have had ZERO issues. As far as the V1 at detecting... It has paid for itself OVER AND OVER!!! I have had one ticket and it was a farce. The instant on laser alerted. I was in a rolling road block with a semi on one side and Explorer in the fast lane. My work van had a governer on it and tops out at 83. The GA ST picked me out of the three of us and wrote me up for doing 86 UP HILL and the semi and ford just went on by! Other than that $450 BS ticket the V1 has not let me down!!!

Please check out this link. After you click on it, you can see the different types of alarms AND see the V1 and Escort side by side.

Thanks MLee! Great link.
Both yours and mine show 4.5 stars. We both have cons like too expensive, Instant on still wins... etc. Basically the same price. Just check out all the reviews. 11 for the Escort and 141 for the V1. All we can do is buy whatever we feel comfortable with. As for me personally, I like to know what direction they are coming from. I don't speed in town so false alarms in town do not affect me. On the highway however, I NEED distance and numbers AND DIRECTION lol.

i used mine for awhile and for a 200 (like i stated i paid 135 but its price is 200) dollor one is very good and my only complaint is that theres no arrow to tell you witch way its comeing from but shy of that cobra is a good way to go i think if you dont want to soak 400 into a radar just my .02 cents also mine has the GPS option but you need to buy a adatpor that plugs into the mini usb port on the side of it and you need to pay for the serves of it i dont think its that much but bummer reguardless of that it is damn good and i not got too meny faults warnings and it did show when cops were on the side of the road in speed trap spots so over all i give it a
*edit* side note its small enuff i got it tucked deep down in the front of my wind shield alittle off to the left so its in a good hidden spot and i don't have wires going everwhere just one down to the 3 port adaptor i got pluged into my main cig lighter so its no hassle and wire dont get in the way and its not that visable from the outside so its good steath place i think quickly look down when it beeps also its got voice to tell you along with the voice so you know like "warning k band radar gun alart" so it works good along with it flashing

RM2092- I just bought an Escort SOLO S3, do you have any comments good or bad about this detector?
A couple of questions: -Does it come w/ the visor clip? -How long do the batteries typically last? -Is anyone using rechargeable batteries? Russ |
