Total 2012 ZL1 Allocations?
What is the total number of 2012 ZL1 Coupes that were allocated?
There have been numbers such as 3,000 and 800 suggested. Does anyone have an accurate number from a reliable source?

I went to my dealership on Saturday and by suprise the GM district rep for my area was in. He said that the first run will be "about" 800 to 900 ZL-1's with a second and possible 3rd run to get to that 3000 car figure.
He did say that even dealerships that have a 0 right now, could receive allocations by the later runs for 2012, all is dependent if a dealership is able to complete sales that have been given allocations. Basicly GM will shift numbers to markets that could sell the car.

Let's see how many they will actually sell when the MSRP hits the market.... Hopefully it will be a plentiful car but I guess it will depend on Price...

Yeah the MSRP is one thing, however the Market Adjustment price that several dealers will add is another. I can see many dealers adding 5-10k over MSRP!

First off, I can't imagine the ZL1 is going to sell as well as the 1SS/2SS, unless the MSRP is very very reasonable.. To me it seems this car is going to be more of a Specialty car or Collector type car, not just a normal everyday ride.. A 580hp Camaro as a Daily Driver, come on... Would anyone be willing to park it in a Walmart parking lot or even at work for an 8 hour day ?? I know I wouldn't...

There are plenty of Z06 Vettes, GT500's and other specialty cars at my work and around it. Now I know this isn't the norm, but just because it has a high price tag doesn't mean people won't drive it everyday. I know mine is going to be a daily driver. I know some of you will say I'm nuts, but I'm buying this car for my enjoyment, not for a garage queen collector item. I'll wait a few years and buy yours and make it a garage queen.

LoL... IcePick, good luck with your DailyDriver... I sure as hell wouldn't dare use a ZL1 as a DD here in Philly, PA..
I was told the ZL1 is going to be a "Limited Release" in 2012, whether it's true or not I can't say...Quantities were going to be in small amounts, with allocations limited... I guess we will see... |

That price you were quoted probably refers to MSRP plus the markup that the dealer is adding on top of the MSRP. You should ask what the MSRP is since markup can vary widely from dealer to dealer (from $0 to over $10K). Of course, the MSRP hasn't been officially released yet (mid November release), so at this point talk of exact pricing just speculation.
