Downshift to pass.
Hey I'm new to driving a manual. When cruising on the highway and downshifting to do an aggressive pass, how fast can I be going to downshift to 3rd safely?

If you're cruising on the highway, 4th is a better option. 3rd will get you in trouble REALLY fast. With the v8 you'll be upwards of 100 in no time

I go to 4th after reading about the poor Kid who fried his engine going into 3rd. Better be safe then sorry...
