It is still illegal or a crime not to have a front licence plate. There just isn't a punishment for it

...and from what I gather reading this....there is no one to enforce the law.

....so if there is no punishment and no one to enforce the law, is there really a law?

kinda like the proverbial question of .....

I'm sure police will still use it as an excuse to pull someone over but ultimately there will be no fine to pay.

I haven't had a front license plate on any my of cars for the past 10 yr ive been pulled over and given warnings every time , I hope it don't catch to me anytime soon. Now with this info I don think Ill ever put it on

Get a ticket it, take it to court and print out the legislative failure.
It'll be interesting to see if they stand behind the actual laws or their
ideal of it. THe fact is they missed out on having ANY tag on your vehilce
not just he front, read the article. It is a major drop by the idiots in the Capitol.

I guess I will be the first to test this out next Tuesday in the great city of McKinney no front plate.

Good luck, let us know how it turns out! Yea to what someone said above, technically if you block the world TEXAS on the plate with a bracket, it's illegal. Cop told me that once. Whatever, people will figure out it's a Texas plate under my DETROIT LIONS bracket.

I hope California gets on this band wagon. Think of how much money the state and consumers would save. The state will save time and money on all that aluminum, paint, and jail or private outfit labor. The consumers could save a few bucks on registration costs not having to buy the front plate. AND CARS WOULD LOOK BETTER!!!!

Are you serious?!?!? I so want to take that ugly thing of a license plate off the front of my baby NOW! lol I'm from New Orleans and we never had to put a front license plate on our cars, I think it's stupid and doesn't make sense.
