Emblems:
I drove it today in the rain and it is tameable. I kicked out the rear for the fun of it a few times and was able to control it. Of course, I doubt I saw more than 2lbs of boost. ![]() Padre |

I like the hks evc ez2 as well...that's what I have in my GN. Turbosmart makes some trick stuff. The electrical controllers tend to work great, immediate change or ramp rate adjustment. Even a mechanical controller would work great in this application. I have good old Turbonetics unit with notch marks for boost adjustment...waterproof and all.
Kudos to you and APF. PM me what they charged to do the LS3 conversion and cam install. Did they do ls7 lifters too?

The Profec seems to be pretty straightforward, whereas some other EBC's you need a Master's Degree in Computer Science to program. ![]() I'll have John at APF PM you. His pricing is very competitive. Padre |

Padre - Great stufff as always. I'm jealous that you beat me to what I was possibly going with next. I may end up taking the N/A route in the interim.
Will you be making any additional drivetrain upgrades anytime soon or are you going to test the limits? |

My only other worry wil be wearing down the transmission when shifting at WOT, which I'll only be doing at the track. I haven't been able to test that, so I may be adjusting the tranny tune accordingly. I have always been a "launch from idle" guy, and I think it works for me (1.654 sixty with bolt-ons and 1.605 with cam, anyone? ) This saves the diff and axles from a brutal launch.Another drivetrain saver will be keeping the stock rims and 275's on the car for daily driving. Too much stress and the wheels spin, no worries. Knock on wood. ![]() Padre |

Took the SS for a spin in the mountains to check my part throttle response and shift tables. Really.

Yeah, first time I drove my Trans Am (97) with the ProCharger and Precision Industries stall converter around 2800-3000 through a corner, the boost caught me by huge surprise. My rear kicked out really good, so you must have been on a good corner (on camber, etc).
Congrats on the good build. I plan to go ProCharger again, although I'm on the fence about whether I'll do a higher stall again for various reasons. Nothing against the mod, but I don't have a track 10 minutes away anymore...they ripped it up to put in warehouses that have been empty for the last 5-6 years (Carlsbad Raceway in San Diego). The car would be too fast for Qualcomm, so this leaves me driving towards the dessert (east or northeast) to really use the stall's capabilities. I still have my old M/T ET Streets on "salad shooter" rims (from 94 Camaro). You mention putting 18" rims on... did you have to modify the brakes or anything to get the rims on?

I see the benefit to the EWG for more than one boost setting...but I REALLY see the benefit to the boost coming on sooner due to the faster head speed on the blower.

Best of luck to you padre. You drove the car to a great cam only number and I can't wait to see what she will run now. Hope you saved money for the roll cage.

![]() The 18's are covered in detail in my build thread (first 2-3 pages). Just had to get rid of the "roller skate" brake pads if you have them, and a great excuse to upgrade pads anyway. Quote:
