Yes it was. The car came from 2 different owners in Pa to Criswell where I bought it.

Also, for the record I have a dynomax bullet on my car right now.. and it sounds like ass. I'm removing the resonator section on my TSP (they weld in a 2.5" inlet/3" out DM Bullet for the muffler) and installing a Classic Chambered Exhausts 3" Powerstick when I get more money. Essentially the same resonator as a GMMG type (and to an extent Thrush) exhaust.

That sounds even better! What would a full setup like that run? Saw for high flows, new x pipe and an exhaust I'm around 1000.

Guy said it's this simple setup: "Pacesetter longtubes, ORY, Classic Chambered medium powerstick dumped off ypipe"

Go with this:
http://texas-speed.com/p-298-paceset...e-package.aspx

Pacesetter Headers and a stainless Y for 369.

https://www.security-order.com/class...red/index.html

Powerstick PN 3026SB. 74 bucks plus 13 bucks shipping.

Pick up a turn down, have some brackets made to support the powerstick. Done.

Probably run you less than 600 bucks for everything, from the LTs to the turndown. X pipes don't apply to these cars unless you're running true duals. The exhaust has the manifolds going into a Y pipe and then a single pipe over the axle and into the muffler. True duals remedy the single pipe, but dumping it like I described above makes the thing sound just as evil.

I saw it popping up online when I was searching -- you got a nice car.

Unless you want the absolute cheapest exhaust possible, I'd skip the Pacesetters and go with TSP 1 7/8 stainless. Can't be beat for the price. The next step up would be Kooks or ARH. Just something to keep in mind.

He could, and in fact should. Kooks and ARH though.. quality is there but I doubt the true power gains in reference to price are worth the cost over the TSP stainless. I did some quick checks and realized that his car doesn't have EGR and thus pulling AIR in the process of the header swap would essentially negate the need for emissions couplings. That said, TSP stainless headers are notorious for being backordered because they are the best bang for the buck.

Will the tone change? Not really. Will it be easier to install because your car is an '02 non EGR car and the AIR system is stupid simple to remove? Yup.

These are the TSP headers in question:
http://www.texas-speed.com/p-291-tex...e-headers.aspx

If you ordered the optional Y pipe (same as the pacesetter set), O2 extensions, and gaskets it would come close to 700 bucks, add in the powerstick, turndown, install.. probably run you 1000 bucks but would sound much better and not rust (IF YOU POWDERCOAT THE POWERSTICK!).

I personally do not think sound should be the deciding factor in which headers to go with -- and honestly, one isn't going to notice a sound difference from the headers -- it's the y & resonator/muffler that will make the difference.

www.ls1sounds.com is a great database to listen to different setups (sorry if it's been mentioned).

I have been on ls1 sounds but mainly looking at just catback systems. I am going to look into headers, not sure how my neighbors would like them though.

Just keep in mind that whatever catback you go with will change a bit when you put headers on the car. It will also change when you put a cam in.

As for your neighbors, just drive slow and keep it in a higher gear so that way you have proof that you're cognizant if anyone decides to complain. There are plenty of loud cars in the DC area, though.

It's easy to be quiet with headers on a stock motor. I'm running ARH LT's into a ARH Catted Y and a LM1, car idles very quiet and doesn't get obnoxious until 2500 rpm.

I've not heard a GMMG equipped vehicle ever sound good with full exhaust. I ran GMMG on my 2000 SS -- it was great as only a catback... but I sold the system to a friend with LT's on his 2000 WS6 -- it was horrible. And yes, I'm the white SS with GMMG on ls1sounds burning their clutch in the video.

Further, the system is rather expensive. I bought mine on a group buy wayyyy back in the day (2004 - yep, I'm old) on LS1tech for $600, IIRC.

I actually saw someone today that had headers with a magnaflow exhaust on a trans am. Sounded amazing! May have to go with a similar setup.
