Hell, my mom and sister face planted a windshield at 25 mph and didn't even get hurt many years ago and the car bumper was the only thing damaged?
I'd bet 25 was the speed the kids told the victim and the cop, and the cop probably said to himself Suuuuure. In my opinion that damage is from at least a 70MPH impact , unless you were glued to the ground. There's always some force that is dissipated by you vehicle moving forward after the hit and I'm sorry 25MPH won't do that kind of damage. Reading some of the background to this story I'm sure theirs more to it than is being said. Anyhow that's my 2 cents worth, from someone that's seen 10 years worth of accidents in south Florida.

But I've seen just as bad or worse in other states I thought Ohio was pretty bad. California was a nice surprise very courteous and organized. Here it's F U get out of my way. I've been almost run off the road by someone on an entrance ramp merge lane and I was in the continuing lane. She sped up to go around me knowing that lane was ending. Afterwards I caught up to her to see her on the cell phone and giving me the finger at the same time. And all I did was pull up in the next lane and honk. Then she speeds up to get in front of me to go 20 MPH slower. I had done nothing to this lady at all just minding my own business. Times like that I wish I was a cop and not a firefighter but what can you do.

BTW to all the user here under 18 realize we all were that age at one time or another. Heck some of us haven't completely grown up yet but for the most part were speaking out of our personal experience or that of our friends. Some of those are gone, gone as in DEAD. They all acted and spoke out much as you did that they were responsible. But I don't think the whole I can't die mentality thing wears off till you pass 25. That's why the military especially the air force God Bless them like them young.

I'm to the point that their should be two areas of this board one for adults and one for children under 18. The childish comments and the fact they offer very little insight to anything related to this car is really wearing on me.

But kids have the lack of fearing death, that is what makes them even more dangerous.

Those type of drivers are everywhere but the average I'm commuting to work driver is Cali is actually pretty good. Take it from me I've driven close if not more than 30 states of the union. Now I was in South Cali during the summer and no school, so traffic was probably better. Still I experienced some major gridlocks and people had no problem giving you a break. Here it's more like I'm not even putting my blinkers on so I don't tip off my hand. I personally always use them to my aggravation.

I agree with some of your other points, but kids not fearing death isn't the reason why they speed. Alot of times it's just to show off or simply for the adrenaline rush that you get doing something that's blatantly wrong and doing it extremely fast. I don't know though, different people do different stupid things for different reasons.

no, you can't argue facts but facts aren't necessarily the same thing as statistics. sure you can't argue the statistic/fact that if i drop a 5lb weight while in a weighted environment it will fall, but you can argue that the horrible driving statistic isn't a fact because you could take a group of 100 people in accidents and statistically 15 of them would be ages 15-20, however, factually they could be any number from 0-100 of the crashes so it isn't a fact that they are worse only a statistic. a statistic which can be caused by a small group of people who were just given a fast car without having to work for it at all and had the mentality of "if i wreck it mommy and daddy will just get me another one" but if you make the kid really work for it or work on it (more than just minor maintenance, i mean work that takes blood, sweat, and sometimes even tears) they would be more careful because if they wreck it, it's on them not just their parents credit card.

/mini rant
Ok... firstly my head hurts after reading that. I can't even respond to most of it because its just...... words can't even.....

But the bottom, about a kid working for it, both in my experience in the insurance industry and in the fire department, I've heard the story a million times. 16-18 yr old kid that worked 7 days a week and spent all his time working on it an wrenching and etc, and yet still managed to take it out and do 100 mph into a tree. For every 1 "good kid" theres way too many "good kids" that still make really bad decisions.
