This is so refreshing to read. Finally, someone being honest around here.

I don't want to see dings any more than anyone else but it's just a car. Not likely destined to be a collectors item. Seems a waste to keep it in the garage and just drive it on the weekends and sunny days.

Little steep infering that everyone who cares "too much" about there Camaro is only keeping it as a garage queen.

Put it into perspective. Lil' under 1 year, 6 dings, 13,000 miles about. 3 from the first 2 weeks of ownership, 2 self inflicted, and 1 on the passenger side hip from a rock. Various chips on the front bumper from highway driving/road rash. 2 on the windshield. My only pet peeve was people truely being inconsiderate when they parked, or opened there door, or cant park in the middle of 2 lines, OR a combination of the 3.
Cheers.

EDIT: Same for when I go out. BFE or go home.
I feel ya there. About a month after buying mine I parked at work in an end spot where you can cheat into a cross-hatched area. Came out at lunch to find a ding in the passenger door middle body line that chipped the paint also. I was pissed. The car that was next to me when I left it in the morning was a newer Mercedes coupe... pretty sure it was the culprit.. just goes to show you that inconsiderate douches drive expensive cars also.

The thing that sucks is that it's not bad enough to claim, but I look at it almost everday :(. I did touch up the chip with some paint.

Relax it's a mass produced car that aspect of it has begun to wear off and will wear off more with time until the c6 is out

parking lots

I just got mine three weeks ago and i'm definitely paranoid about it .Last night there where 100 empty parking spots picked one out of the way ,woke up this morning and every body was parked around it at the hotel.no scratches yet!

I was terrible when I first got mine, a lot better now. I too had to pay out of pocket to get some body work done because some A hole scraped my rear quarter in a grocery store parking lot. Other than that, I got one small nick in the door that you cant notice unless you put your face up to it.

I try to park next to non family vehicles, SUVs and Minivans got little kids that like to recklessly swing open doors. Parking next to challengers, mustangs, and other expensive cars is always a good bet. They love their babies as much as we do.

I never really worry about it too much. I don't work in the best area, which almost kept me from getting it, but it's insured.

Believe it has to do more with the cost to replace it, fix it.

Hi again
Let's just assume that "rich" people who own such cars wouldn't like to "waste" money on a 2-3000 $ fender like me and others wouldn't like to "waste" money on a 500$ one? Let's call it proportional, in all fairness even if my numbers are terrible skewed.
