"In Transit?"

my event code says 3800, "in transit". I know it was built 5/5 or 5/6 but no code for shipment but it says in transit. Another owner who's car was built the same day had his code at 3800, in transit, and his car showed up at he dealer.
Does "in transit" mean it has shipped? It was to get factory stipes (CGM). Can anyone find Vin 8002?

Boy I sure wish I did know. I have been watching the same thing. Mine, a 2LT/RS auto with no stripes sits at 3800 too. No other info. My dealer feels that it means it is on its way. But the 800 number said on Thursday it was shipped and on Friday that it was in QC. I know of no reason for a 2LT auto to be in QC, do you? What did you order?

There are many here including me that have been at 3B00 for 6 weeks now.

The code means that the car is Bayed with the Carrier.

Somewhere on here is a post about cars at the stripping facility sitting in lots due to the carrier not honoring the First in First Out concept of inventory control.

I am #857 and was built the second week of production.

2SS/RS VIN 8002. I know some people that got built the first day are going to say they have been waiting longer. Not true. I ordered Oct 13, i've been waiting just as long.

This is how rumors get started... it was not a case of the carrier or striping partners not honoring the FIFO policy, it was a case of some VIN's having mistakenly slipped into a "crack" that had them sitting. That clog has been cleared though, those cars are moving again.

Your VIN is early enough that the battery cable is likely not the only issue being fixed for you... factory stripes or not (the "clog" mentioned above applied to factory stripes).

UPDATE. After sitting at 3800 for a while, I sent an e-mail to my dealer asking for the event code history. Amazing that yesterday, Saturday, it was still 3800. After I sent the e-mail today he sent a message back that they had the invoice and it shipped on 5/6 and expect delivery on the 5/21.
3800 yesterday to shipped and on the way today. Sounds a bit odd but I have seen others on here that jumped 3 or 4 event codes.

Either way I am excited that i whoould have my new Camaro by next weekend.

Also just wanted to add. If cars are being built and shipped the same day or next day, then it should be a short time now that the QC hold cars are taken care of and shipped. JMO but it's starting to look good for everyone i hope.

It shipped on 5/6 and scheduled delivery on 05/21? That seems like a long time for a car to go from A to B in Transit. I think your car was shipped likely last week. Anyway hope you get your car next weekend.

They got a 2LT last week they didn't order, it got there 2 days ahead opf schedule. mine may be there in a couple days. Also consider my dealer is in Oregon. That's a bit longer trip than average.

well heres one my vin 1295 was built in march and alli get from gm and the dealer is its been built but they cant find it

and the legend of 1295 goes on and on and on

According to my dealier my 2LT/RS w/autotrans has been waiting at the final rail destination for a car carrier to pick it up and deliver it to the dealer since either May5 or May 8th...still waiting...

Ahh, ok. Yeah the factory is within 8 hours from my dealership so that could make a difference. Well hope you get your car this week.

i have my dealer invoice in front of me mine said it was shipped on the 6th i called my dealer today and it states that im at 4300 interm bayed multi.now the estamate delivery date is the day he starts to pay intrest on the car mine says the 18th .my dealer told me could be up to about ten days after that date.by the way my car was at 4b00 4 times on the 11th and 12th of may .to tell you the truth these dealers dont even know when its coming .my dealer said he has been in this business for 25 years and never went through this kinda shit .so bottom line is your guess is as good as mine .so im thinking at least we are not in qc i hope vin 7895 built on may 5th good luck by th was does anybody know what/ EXP I/T means on the invoice
