It pretty cool to get hit by laser - most times I think its other cars with laser speed control.
Cool, thanks for the info! I'm going to definately get the add on module now!

Quick observation: are you sure the jammers are mounted right? They look like they're in an angle. From what I read, they should be level with the road and perpendicular on the vehicle imaginary central axle...
I discussed that with the installer. They are at an angle, but level with the road. His contention was that the radar gun is never going to be at a perfect angle directly in front of the car, so the fact that they are angled with the grill really does not matter. I may send the picture to Escort customer service just for the heck of it to see if they think it is a problem.

Please let us know your findings. That would be great!
I will ask my installer to see what he thinks.
(he has installed over 50+ 9500ci in Ferrari, Maseratis, Camaros's etc... So I respect his opinion. But nothing is good as what escort will say.

escort should know.
I understand the jammers create a shield around them that prevents the laser from acquiring the speed. The only worry would be that depending on how powerful the jammers are, if they're in an angle they might not cover the entire front surface. If they leave a gap, then the laser can get your speed...That's just my assumption at this point.

I may be wrong, but IF you happen to get a problem with your HUD in the future warranty could be denied due to alterations. Expensive fix too.

Escort responded and I sent them some more pictures, so hopefully I will get an answer from them shortly.

Got the following reply from Escort tech support:

First Response:
I cannot see what you sent me in this e-mail - but in general, the shifters must be mounted level both up and down and left and right. They should be mounted to provide ample coverage for the front of the vehicle, so not to close to each other or too far away.

my response:
Thanks for responding. The sensors are level and even on both sides of the front grill, but the front of the car is not square, it is sloped, so they follow the grill. I am attaching the picture in a pdf and a picture of the front of the car so you can see more of what I am talking about and where the detail photo is on the car.

Their reply:
From that image it appears to have been installed properly, and to have been installed as well as possible for that vehicle

I love the CI but hate the wires are made to a certain length. Talk about a pita to run all that crap to the brain box

I have my "brain box" in the fuse box in the drivers door and there is plenty of room to wrap up the extra wire - which you are correct, there is a bunch of it.

I had mine installed by a local alarm installer. They made custom brackets and mounted them behind the grill. The laser heads are facing perfectly straight and are also level.

I tried taking pictures, but they are so well hidden that they do not show in the picture well.
