there are turbo kits out there for the LS7, but the only boosted V8s from the factory are the LSA in the 2009 CTS-V & the LS9 in the 2009 ZR1, which are basically LS3s with factory superchargers.

i think i see what you're trying to say, though... a swap to another GenIV engine won't be that hard... it was done last fall, as shown above.

i agree that a modded LS3 will be more powerful & cheaper in the end than swapping engines

the Z06 uses a naturally aspirated engine, the LS7

it's a 427ci (7.0L) engine, but it is still a GenIV LS block, meaning it shares the same external dimensions as its siblings like the LS2, LS3, etc. there is no clearance issue, as seen on the LS7 Camaro from SEMA

turbos also typically don't interfere with hood clearance - that would mainly be a supercharger issue, which has been shown a few times to not be a problem either.

this particular S/C kit puts you around 550hp for about $8k installed... that's about what you'd pay for a twin turbo kit, but i'd expect a little more power from the turbos.

you do have a good point in mentioning that you should check for clearance issues before buying an engine, but unless you're going with a big block or some crazy blower scoop, i doubt it'll be an issue.

Thanks for all the info so far. But why would i get a charger when i already have 1 and 2 why would i want a crap suspension when i could get a basiclly corvette suspen. Then trans is far better than any charger and challenger.I just wanted the ls7 put in at the factory but they wont do that.

factory options are the LLT in the V6s, the L99 in the SS auto, and the LS3 in the SS manual
