Vinyl advice

So I bought some vinyl hood spears for my car. I figured that they aren't that big and they should be a breeze to put on. I don't know what happened but boy was I wrong. I read up on how to put them on and I watched some videos on it.
I sprayed the area and the vinyl and it was very difficult to line up. I wanted to make sure I got all of the bubbles out so I squeegeed the crap out of it to get all the water out. When I peeled the wax paper off the top it was bubble city and there was a huge wrinkle in it. I attempted to get the bubbles out which went ok, but the wrinkle wasn't going anywhere. It looks great from a distance, just don't walk up to my hood. I ordered another set and they are on their way.

So does anyone know where I could go to get them put on and I don't have to deal with messing it up again? I'm in the RI area.

I like the look - of course, I'm partial to hood spears though...

The bubbles are misleading, I believe. When I put mine on, which were straight decals, so there was no wetting of the surface or anything like that - once mine were on, they were on...The bubbles may disappear once the stripes are exposed to the sun / heat. That's what mine did. In fact, when I put them on, they looked pretty good, but a few days later a bunch of bubbles showed up...a few weeks later, they were gone.

As for the wrinkle, that's a tough one. I guess you just need to be a bit more careful, I don't know. Do be careful with your squeegee too, as you don't want to acidently scratch your hood with a corner of squeegee itself.

A local window tinter could do it for you. I did my gills a few weeks ago and I know they are smaller but the method is the same. Did you use soapy water?

Yeah I took mine to a local tinting shop. I read up on how to do it as well, and it didn't seem that hard but I didn't trust myself to NOT tear them or something. Downside is it can be expensive to have someone install them for you, so just an FYI on that. My hood spears cost me $80, and I want to get some on the rear fenders and he wants to charge me $100 for them. I should try to do myself, but I want them to last.

Rather than straight water add a little bit of dish soap too it. That will help slide the decal, vinyl as needed and squeegie out the air bubbles/wrinkles.

Dragon Tats knows, its what the tint guys do and they use butloads of soapy water when putting on ur tints and they come out great after a few days of drying.

I guess I'll have to try a tint shop. I've been meaning to get my windows tinted too. Maybe I can work out some package deal.

its easy just spray it down with a bottle of soapy water and use a window tint squeegy to get all the air out.

I designed and installed an entire clear bra for my brothers new 12 wranger in 4 hours and I'm no pro. You should be able to do this yourself no problem.

Is there a store that sells squeegees? I'd like to use something better than a credit card.
