P0556 code
I just got my 2011 camaro magnacharged. I absolutely love it. But, when I got it home I drove it around for a little while and the CEL came on. The code was P0556, and it says brake booster Pressure sensor.
Do any of y'all know what this might mean? |

sounds like the line to the brake booster was not re-connected

There is a pressure sensor in the brake booster and gets compared to the pressure in the manifold and sets the code if it sees a difference.
You have to switch the code off in the ECM

I've had the same code pop up a few times. I just clear it with my SCT and move on. Hasn't come back lately.

P0556
The ECM detects brake booster vacuum as being less than the intake manifold vacuum for more than 100 milliseconds. |

What could be the causes of this code and what is the remedy?

just have your tuner turn the code off, set to no error report

You're probably not running the magna charger tuned because those codes are turned off the magna charger tune

The SCT Handheld that comes with the Maggie can clear it.

Thanks! I cleared it with an OBDII scanner and Torque Android App., but would like to know what causes it to taken precautions.

Running into the same issue here on a HeartBeat Maggie kit (am running the supplied Maggie tune).
Tripped P0556 when doing a simulated water-box burnout (two foot power brake). Annoying to say the least....as you get reduced power mode and hardly any throttle, along with hard shifts until the code is cleared (key cycle will not clear). Working with Magnuson now on the tune.

So little update on this, it's a tune error.
Magnuson said this code is tripped by the Auto cars, as they have a brake booster pressure sensor, which is used to make sure the brake booster has enough vaccum stored while the displacement on demand is active. Once the vaccum in the booster drops below a certain threshold, the dod kicks off, manifold vacuum comes up and the booster is recharged. The code is a tripped by a logic check which compares the MAP sensor to the Brake Booster Pressure Sensor during a WOT/High throttle condition, which effectively makes baro equal to actual baro. On a boosted car, we see positive manifold pressure so the sensor comparison check fails, setting the DTC and the computer thinks the brake pressure sensor is faulted. All Magnuson did was turn off the DTC in the tune, easy fix. Annoying that the supplied tune did not have this done already though....I mean they know when you order it that it is going on an auto car and will trip this DTC..... For what it's worth, the Whipple kit I just did tripped the same code, and it also was not turned off with the supplied tune.
