C'mon man... Honestly when the Camaro went on hiatus do you think Ford ever once thought of not producing a Mustang? Was Ford selling 550hp Mustangs when there was no competition? Its all good for marketing hype to say they are raising the bar for each other. But honestly we live in a world of more than GM and Ford....

If you think that either company doesn't want to be recoginzed as a global force you're fooling yourself. I'm a Chevy lover to the core, but also realize for these cars to be competitive in the market they don't solely focus on each other and the standards set in Detroit.

Be that as it may, I love my ZL1. My only issue is that all the hype over the ZL1 has been put to bed by the blue oval camp for now. Please don't start with the magazine ratings or modding either. We all knew this was coming since the LA autoshow. We kept the faith and those of us that didn't jump ship were well rewarded as this car is awesome.

To me IMHO this car is the Z28 and the ZL1 should have been held back to see Ford's response. But we are to late now and just have to deal with the cards that were dealt. And all this about street racing, it is pure Americana and where the 1320 evolved from. Things were a lot different back when muscle cars ruled the streets of America, but lets not forget our roots...

The ZL1 isn't close to the Z06 and light years behind the ZR1. I don't know any of those guys that aren't sleeping at night over the ZL1. The base vette is a toy as is the base V6 camaro. The ls3 in the base vette is like buying a V6 camaro. I could see most of those guys having a complex.

for us zl1 guys, just be thankful we are now out of our SS cars.......the ss gets beaten by the new factory baseline gt stangs, 392 challengers, boss 302, shelbys old and new, all vettes, etc..........slowpoke now

Well a few people on here are under the assumption that GT500s get sent to Shelby's plant in Las Vegas, that is not the case. The GT500 is a factory built mustang, rolls off the same assembly line as V-6 mustangs. Also its built by SVT and the shelby badges are simply part of a licensing contract.

So Im not going to bash you, i just want to know what you meant haha

He probably had the resonator delete. 2010+ GT500s actually have a resonator in the intake to surpress the blower whine. You can replace that center section without tuning the car since the MAF is not changed. Nop power gains from it but much more blower whine.

An intake and tune 2013 would be right around 650whp, which would put a lot more than 2 cars on a stock ZL1 (500ish whp).

Yeah, that excuse is as lame as Ford fan trying to say the GT500 loses in some track because it doesn't have IRS....it's not fair!!!!
