I can't lie and say that all the Mike from Dirty Jobs commercials haven't peaked some interest in the Fusion!
My 2006 Fusion SEL 4 cyl got 32mpg under 68 mph. In the city i was driving 10 miles a day and filling up my tank ever 2 weeks when i got my paycheck with gas still in the tank, they are great on gas.

The 2nd Gen Fusions do even better on gas and like the one guy said, you can find AWD's that are great in the winter.

Well, you guys won me over.

I bought a 2005 Ford Explorer tonight! I'm psyched. Black on black, with DVD player! Nice interior too.

I'm partial to the Subaru Legacy 2.5GT Turbo. I had a Subaru Outback wagon rental when I was working in Washington State on Winter. We also had a Trailblazer AWD rental. Ended up getting about 10 inches of snow. The Outback did about 10 times better then the Trailblazer in the snow. Had full leather and heated seats, loaded to the teeth.

How many miles on are on the Explorer? Any pictures of this new ride (even though it's DD status)?

My Dad has an 05 Legacy 2.5GT, it's one of those factory freak cars that really gets with the program. It would outrun my old 07 STi (pre Camaro), kinda pissed me off.

OP, congrats on your Explorer

It's up there... 113k miles. But if I put 5k miles on it a year, that's a lot. So I'm not too concerned.

They are touching up a few things then I'll pick it up tomorrow. I'll throw some pics up then!

I used to work on them at a dealership, biggest thing was people would never use their parking brakes. Then when it came time to change rear pads/rotors, all of the ebrake components needed replaced as well. Just giving you a heads up in case you're a DIY'er

Only bad thing i've experienced with explorers is bad paint & a crack under the rear window that is on almost every one I see including my dad's old one.
