I did the proper burnishing procedure on the OEM pads. It had no effect on the amount of dust produced. Hence my swap to 10,000 miles ago to Hawk Ceramic Performance pads.

Does anyone have the part number for the front and rear hawk ceramic pads for the ZL1?

Read post #4 and make absolutely sure that you can live with a slight loss in stopping power.

It's supposedly the same pad as the Cadillac CTS-V.

Even Hawk's own site doesn't seem to know what a ZL1 Camaro is, although they do list the CTS-V pads in Ceramic.

I had the Hawk Ceramic pads installed both front and rear last week. I noticed a slight decrease in stopping power but not enough to ever bother me as I will never track my car. In fact I always thought the stock pads were a tad too sensitive for me, so I love they way these ceramic pads feel now and what a difference on the brake dust.

FYI, I had the blue cone, so my wheel torque specs are 110 ft lbs.

Finally, make sure whoever installs knows that they have to sand the discs with 130 grit paper and wash with soap and water so as to not cross-contaminated the different pad's material. I know this was not done when I changed over on my Challenger SRT8 and that may be why the brakes squealed sometimes.

The new hawk pads have not made any noises and I don't even think about that I changed the pads except when it comes time to washing the wheels, then I say man am I glad I did this!

I performed the brake burnishing too and my brake dust increased 50%

So rotors need to be sanded and washed to remove OEM brake residue?

Hi,

I get it the ceramic pads create way less dust, however the dust is "light colored".

I have black wheels. So would light colored dust not look worse than dark dust on dark wheel? Just from esthetics point of view...

Any thoughts?

I have the hawk ceramics for a year now and my chrome wheels see minimum 50 percent less brake dust. Love them.

Brake Dust vs Property Damage and Bodily Injury; How is this even a discussion?

Let's raise the RWHP and reducing braking power

Really?

Less dust on your wheels is more important than safety

I did the Hawks two years ago and agree with everything already said about the results.
