It has little to do with what you do as much as knowing that you can.
Most people with a 6.2L under the hood don't do 4.5 second 0 - 60 runs at every single stop light, or do smoking burnouts til the tires pop.........................................it's just nice knowing that when you want to you can. By the way this was my all time favorite burnout. Wil Cooksey, Corvette plant manager several years ago in a Z06. http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=...ail&FORM=VIRE2 Check about 2 minutes in and see what the blown tire did to the rear quarter panel.

I had a 2012 1LT Automatic before this car. I was VERY impressed with the V6 power. When you figure the base 396 CI engines of the 60s put out 325HP and the 323HP of the LFX V6 comes from 220 CI... that's pretty amazing. The technological advancements are awesome. That LFX was one fast engine, though I realize it wasn't the beast the SS is.
So now I'm following the factory recommended break-in procedures for my SS, with the occasional "run it hard" advice of C5 members here. Can't wait 'til I get another 900 miles on it so I can start learning the full potential. I drove some awesome muscle cars back in the day and today, just like back then, I am not afraid of the power... but I do respect it and plan to use it.

Well I can see why my L99 was quick 0-60 because even with T/C off she did not spin allot she just stuck and went. The LS3 with T/C off spins like nuts. With it on she will still spin some but she is hauling ass doing it.
I just turned it off yesterday because a friend of mine on her told me to try it and hang on for the fun of it. I was not really expecting to get that wild with a 5 mph roll. |

Let's go Rangers!

My SS just passed 600 miles and out of the dealer lot I began the break in process and drove it like I stole it.
I have no problems mashing the pedal and enjoying the cars potential. The lower the mpg's the more I am enjoying my car. This weeks avg. was 13.3. Felix - Sent from my 2SS/RS |

Where did you get that "everyone babies their car?" I don't baby mine that's for sure. I bought it to drive it and the more HP the better. I don't baby it and I'm certainly not afraid of it either.
Pic of speedo @ 152, this certainly isn't babying it. |
