The way I'm understanding the warranty issue with tuning is when you install a tune the ECM flashed. Now say you take your car into the dealership for warranty work for an engine problem. The dealership determines you have flashed the ECM with an aftermarket tune. They won't warranty your engine problem your on your own.

Correct about losing your warranty of you tune. But your saying you'd tune after 3/36 which makes no sense as you still have 2/64 left on your powertrain (engine) warranty. So why are you willing to lose your engine warranty after 3/36 but not now?

I don't think you are fully understanding.

Your powertrain (engine) warranty covers you for longer then your b2b. Even when you b2b is over you sill have engine coverage. Your b2b covers everything outside of the powertrain(engine/tranny).

You are correct the b2b warranty covers every thing the 5/100 covers. The 5/100 only covers internally lubricated engine parts and components. It does not cover items such as sensors, the fuel system or the Powertrain/Engine control module. These items are only covered under the 3/36 b2b warranty. After the 3/36 warranty has expired and those items mentioned are no longer covered I and many other people on this forum will then roll then dice and do a tune.

The tone does change a little after a couple of weeks of driving. I did notice that and I think others have said that also.
