SSmokinSS 2011 SW 1SS/RS
This is ME!
Those feet were made for smashing pedals.. Here is how I got back into the Camaro world. My dad was huge into Camaros. He owned one as long as I can remember. This is my first pic next to a Camaro. Can you guess what kind? Here is my dad and me around the same age. Both next to our favorite! I lost my Dad in 1999. He was only 43 years old. He never got the chance to appreciate the 5th Gens. I'm sure he would have LOVED them. My first Camaro was a 1976 Black Z28. It was a former drag car, and ran like a well used drag car should. Horrible! The wipers didn't work, it got around 1/4mile per gallon....I loved it! Fast forward a few years, kids, and a few dozon Camaros. My last F-body was a 1997 Camaro Z28. Awesome car! I had to trade it in when I got out of the Air Force. I tried to get an '02 SS before they discontinued my favorite car, but was unable to.... One day in the summer of 2011, my awesome wife told me "shut up and go buy a camaro" I was set on a 1LS in IOM.....until I saw this! Drove it, loved it, had to have it. I bought the car. 2011 1SS. No options but the stripes. I had the car for a few days, until the dealer called and wanted to change the terms on the loan. Later that day, I dropped the car off and walked away. After 10 more years of searching, (actually about 4 hours) I found the ONE! It was exactly what I wanted. 2011 Summit White 1SS/RS LS3 with Hurst Shifter and Polished wheels. The dealer was a few hours away, but they already had the windows tinted, and could deliver it in the morning! SOLD! Above was the only thing I had to see. It was in my driveway the next morning. more to come....

I was excited to get started!
I painted the engine cover and added some SS hardware. I hit the bowties with some bright red rustoleum. Throw on some plastidip, and we are looking good! Don't forget the back. Next up....Interior! First I covered the panels with red fabric. It looked great, but started to sag. I tried again with red plastic paint. Done! For the next year, it went through a few changes on the outside. Nothing permanant. Installing scanner and painting the grille white. Adding red pinstripe letting my daughters play with the plastidip! Ragtop? Bored? Take a trip to Vegas! Ok, back to the "changing". After owning the car for about a year and a half, I got a wild hair and traded it off for......a 13 Sonic Turbo. Awesome, huh? This was the last time I though I would drive the SS..trading it in day. After a few weeks of driving the Sonic, I thought I could make this as cool as the Camaro. There are tunes, and add ons around, but it's still a 1.4L. Quick is relative to what is around you. It was a decent car, and looked pretty spiffy. Did it turn heads at gas stations? Sure! Usually to ask me why I was driving something like that. I guess I look like a muscle car kinda guy? Anyone that knew me always asked. "What happened to that sweet Camaro?" Me - "I traded it in" "For THAT!" Me - [Looking down] I missed my car. I figured in a year or so, I could trade out. Or maybe I could take a hit, and trade the Sonic for an LS, or maybe an LT! Driving to work one morning, I got off the freeway one exit early, just to take a peek at the Chevy dealer. Guess what was on the corner, spinning around like it was looking for something? It was all cleaned up, with a new set of BFG's and some nice hood spears. I had to have it! Went back and traded in the Sonic. Hadn't even made a payment or put the plates on it yet. Insurance company, Bank, neighbors, friends, could not figure out what happened. Did I loan it someone, Did I wreck it? Why was it gone, and now it is not? Why would you finance another car with the same VIN? Lost of odd questions getting this hammered out. Back in my possession. I chopped the mufflers off and started planning again. Then it got cold again....I don't like snow. Adding my fender stripes back on. Driver's side this time. I'll be adding to this all the mods I have done, and hopefully continuing on for a long time.

Next up on the interior is the lighting control
I installed 3 of the led lighted ring switches in the overhead console today. Also a master switch with the Power symbol in the center. The main switch on the right is always lighted. When it is pushed, the other three light up in the off position. They can then power my other add ons. Scanner, footwell lights, and I have a spare for future options.

I installed an onstar box with bluetooth on my 2011 1SS. I have been searching the forums for the right parts number, and found 20842731 from a salvage yard on car-parts.com. $50 plus $20 shipping. Had it in 3 days!
This part is from a 2010 Buick/camaro, etc. It paired up instantly to my android. A couple notes... My onstar is disabled. I do not plan on reactivating it. I have my old box if I need to put it back to stock. My car is still in the garage since the install, so these issues may change when I drive to work. I will update if so. NO lights on the mirror (onstar) two dashes where the compass used to be on the dic. I also installed steering wheel controls and the PDIM tonight. I will be programming them at the dealer this week. If i make a call on the phone, it plays through the cars speakers. Using the buttons on the mirror don't work, other than the onstar phone. havent tried the radio controls yet. Update: steering wheel controls and PDIM are working perfectly after the dealer programmed them.

Whoa whoa whoa. I like these overhead buttons! I want some in blue. I had been thinking of getting the n2o switches there.
How much was the PDIM ? I need to stop slacking on that |

Here you go!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/USA-shipd-12...item2578aa3e00 I have a few spare RED switches that I haven't found a home for yet. The PDIM was from GMpartsdirect. I paid $155 plus shipping. part number 92244580 EASY install. Programmed by the dealer. It adds the USB, but then you will want the steering wheel controls also. They are around $60 with the harness. Also easy to install. Depending on the dealer, it can cost between $50 and $???. I might be able to hook that up for you. Might as well add the Bluetooth for an extra $50! No programming required.

Couple of other small touches. I removed the CAMARO letters from the fenders and the rear bowtie. Then plastidipped the letters and attched them to the rear truck lid. I also dipped the chrome bezels around the tail lights. Also, you can see I have NO exhaust tips! You have to have exhaust pipes for the tips to attach to! The pipes are cut right after the center hangers.

Lost in an ocean of blue ovals!
I think they were all hoping some horsepower would rub off on them if they got close enough to the General. BTW, I was the first one to park.....the rest followed, as usual. (They had never seen the front end of a chevy, just the rear)
