Need some inspection help in Houston area - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

A buddy of mine has long tubes and high flow cats on his car, plus a dyno tune done at Owen's shop that also turned off the CEL, but because the cats are aftermarket, his car still won't pass inspection, it comes up with a cats not ready, and o2 sensors not ready. My question is, does anyone know of an inspection place in the area that will... help him out? Much appreciated.

That's the same advice someone else gave me, I passed it on to him once, not sure if he took it, I'll let him know again, thanks.

The car will have to legitimately pass inspection even through Owen. Recently the inspection went from two not ready to one not ready so it makes it more difficult to pass. He can set things to where the car will only have one not ready. My inspection just came up in January and my car passed at over 1000 RWHP. So I think he will be able to get this one to pass as well.

So wait... if i go aftermarket exhaust and cats even if the parts 100% legal the car isn't using them correctly so the emissions machines will fail us?

never had this problem on my Fords or even my Infiniti with HKS race exhaust.

Ahhh true... I forgot the rules changed a bit. I use one over on 1960 near the Hardy Toll Rd. Used to be a Mr. Sticker but the guy bought it out and they are very lenient. It's right across 1960 from the Dairy Queen.

I don't know how the camaro ecu handles it, the car in question is an srt challenger.
