Rediculous . . the UNDERSIDE has to be perfect . . good God, don't put your car on a lift!

So many of you people are such Primadonnas . .

If you want a show car, you have to paint it yourself.

I'm jealous! I picked up AT LEAST 15+ new chips just driving to indy and back for the fest. And that's after adding front mudflaps to help chips and I have aftermarket wheels that don't stick out as far as the 10 spokes did. It sucks

I know it's been mentioned, but the same paint defects mentioned in this forum are rampant on the SS and LT sections of this site. The ZL1 gets the same crappy paint as the rest of the Camaros. I believe that the Ford and Dodge competition suffers from the same concerns. I blame it on low VOC paint and too many vertical or almost vertical panels on the Camaro.

To late now. Oddly, I guess, my black 2010 SS didn't chip to hell and back like my 12 z does. If I knew then what I do now I'd dipped the whole damn thing in clear bra material when I bought it!

I don't think it's the panels, your first thought about VOC is what I believe also. They will regulate painting anything away eventually!

The paint on my White ZL1 is almost perfect.
I know for a fact that the paint on my ZL1 is "thicker" than the 2013 Porsche Panamera GTS in the garage, the P-car is Black fyi.
I LOVE my ZL1 !!

ZL1 on the track

I have already been on a 1000 mile road trip and had it on a road course so far. Roebling Road in Georgia. 135mph down the straight a way loving every minute! The thing that got me was trying to stay at the 45mph speed limit on the way home from the track!!!!

This isn't a matter of a super anal owner bugging out because there is a paint chip somewhere on his car, this is epidemic paint chips that you can add to nearly every time the car is driven. I'm not bashing the car, I love the car, would buy it again in a heartbeat. But this is a serious paint problem not a few people that are nit-picky
part of the issue is the sticky tires throw so much gravel. when I turn rocks kick up and hit the mirrors. I think they needed to put the guards on the rest of the wheel wells instead of just the front of the front ones and the rear of the backs

Yes, the rock chips suck, but anyone who bought a Z and didn't already know it would be an issue didn't do their homework. The SSs and LTs had the same problem. Same goes for the SC rattle...the LSA isn't new either.

I line up at a stop light against a Mustang, Challenger, some Corvettes and laugh when they hit the gas and then normally pull away from the light. Yes, I want to complain, this is the best car I have ever owned. I also want to complain about FBODFATHER, why did you guys design and build such a fantastic car? I want to complain about Super 60 who obviously loves his job and us, his customers. I want to complain about Becky Rodgers who out of the goodness of her heart helps sooooo many of us here. Well, I am running out of things to complain about, so i think I will go out and suffer through another ride in the car.

P.S. I forgot to complain about Chevrolet Customer Service, they are always lurking around here spying on us.
Complaint noted

One HELL of a car! A total blast!
Oh, I have to complain on this thread.
The rubber seal in the door jamb is rubbing the paint off (putting pp film there), the SC isolator rattles, the brake fluid cap leaks and will eventually cause the paint to come off.
Its a badass car that most of us give hell, and not one person has complained about a mechanical failure from beating on the car!!!!

I am a dealer and installer for clear paint protection, I bathed my car in the stuff when it was brand new, its a year old now and has perfect paint.

Have 2012 #1098 with 7k miles on it, totally stock, not driven on track. Last night, pulling out of Famous Daves, slow rolling when all of a sudden on the message panel, "Service Stabiltrack" then a sputter, followed by "reduced Power" then the engine cut off. Tried to restart, on for a second or two then cuts off with "reduced power" warning msg. Finally, after several of these, the engine would not even crank. Was stranded so had it towed back to dealer who is working on it now. They originally said probable carbon build up (fuel issues) but use 93 octane from Shell... now, mechanics say a relay in the fuse block panel keeps frying... Has anybody out there have/had similar problems? if so what was the fix? Missing 1098 already....forced to drive my wife's 2013 #2947
