I'm wondering. For swirl removal, does a compound work better when applied with a polisher?

I used Meguiars Ultimate compound on the Camaro and all I seemed to do was waste time and money. Scratches and swirl marks just seemed to laugh at me.

The car looks shiny from the wash and it's nice and smooth from the clay bar. But the Compound didn't seem to change the swirl effects.

Any advice?

You have to use a polisher. You should start in one area no bigger than 2'x2' and start with the polish that has the least cut.

I have two (2) recommendations, both of which involve Detailer's Domain in NNJ.
Option 1: They do top-notch paint correction (forget the body shops).
Option 2: Call and speak to Phil and get recommendations as how best to DIY.
You will need an orbital and the proper pads and compound for the application.
If you wax you car a few times a year, an orbital is worth its weight in gold !
