What issues have you had to pay for out of pocket?

Hey Everyone!

I was debating on whether or not i wanted to get the extended warranty but wanted to see how other cars have held up!

What issues have you had happened between 36K and 100K that were not covered by the Powertrain warranty? And if so, how much did it cost?

Just looking to see if it might be worth it. Thanks!

This isn't an answer to your question, buuuuut....

I got the extended warranty. And now 8 months later I'm like, "Why did I pay 3,000 just to want to void it with mods!?!"

Haha!

I don't plan on modding too much outside of and Exhaust or CAI. And i'm not very mechanically inclined so it may pay off for me! I'm just not sure how the components under the bumper to bumper will hold up for 100k miles!

I've got 82,000 on mine, I lost a lifter but the car is cammed, broke a stabilizer link and had the fuel pump go, other than that it's been good and I drive it real hard.

Set of 4 TPMS cost around $200... it would take an aweful lot of these to add up to a 3k extended warrantee.

I have had extended warrantees on two previous vehicles. One, I never used it. One I got lucky (or unlucky) and had a major problem just before the extended warrantee expired. That being said, I don't think the problem I had ended up costing as much as the extended warrantee, but it was nice to not have to go in pocket for that. Overall, I think they are generally a bad investment. I did not bother with one for the Camaro and the dealership actually did not push it at all. They basically said, did you save enough money for an extended warrantee, I said no, and that was it.

I do believe you can get a refund on the unused balance, know it has value if you trade the car in with an extended warranty.
