I'm going to be at the next running of this event, a lot closer to home for me.

how about me can I do it? You bet I can, but I don't want to ive done 200mph in a 2007 Z06 with a tune-only, and the number I had was based on the Heads up display so im not sure how accurate it was either.

This is a boring video I did of the ZL1, has two WOT runs that goto 150mph or almost to the top of 4th gear to be more precise.

Sorry to bring this back up....but could someone tell me where i'm suppose to go to bring up the top speed recall? When I go through my menu I don't find it. Or does it only do it if you have actually started the whole lap time thing?

Yeah, you have to go into the performance driving mode and start the timer to get it to log the speed.

Do you still have your 2010 SS? If not you may want to change your "Drives" details on the left under your avatar.

I am witness to a 2006 Z06, headers, intake, tune, getting to 184 with NO hesitation, but then crawling to accel past that. No drag is a huge diff compared to the stock ZL1, which behaves similarly until about 145, where it has wind resistance troubles past that (bumblebee)

The stock ZL1 has good transmission ratios to hit 200, it just doesn't have the power because it has too much drag. I don't know for sure about the the 2006 Z06 but the modern cars have a .5 ratio 6th gear that is great for saving fuel but can't give anything for acceleration. With the older Corvettes top speed was always reached in 5th rather than 6th. GM tried to make 6th gear a usable ratio for the ZR1 and the ZL1.
