Great Experience today

Took my ZL1 to Award Chevrolet, in Crestview, FL for my 1500 mile fluid change. The guy asked me why I wanted the diff fluid changed and I told him because the manufacturer tells me to in the owners manual...he just smiled and said it's good to see someone knows their car. No arguments, in and out in about 2 hours. Good dealership. The didn't say anything about the root-fab intake either....

No, $180. Not too bad considering the price of that oil per quart.

Here is what I found, it is on pg 9-16 (2013) "should the vehicle be used for racing or competitive driving (after break-in) the rear axle lubricant must be replaced before hand."
How I take that is, if you are not going to be doing any kind of high performance track driving, then you don't need to change it.

I asked the dealer to throw it in with the complimentary oil change(s) and they did! Had it done at 1500 miles and will probably have it done again soon...just went over 8K miles.

Call me paranoid, but based on the many previous dealer experiences I've had done, I'd be skeptical of them filling the differential correctly.

Not to sound like a negative nancy lol but I am glad I asked if they charged you a fee, because your originally post made it sound sort of like they did you a favor or something. (when you said no argument or anything), So I really do not understand your point of the posting, because anyone will do a fluid change if you pay them. Were you just trying to tell everyone that the diff fluid should be changed after 1500 with racing conditions?. just a bit misleading maybe you should have titled it, "$180.00 great experience". So other people might not get mislead in anyway.

There is a say that goes something like this

For every story , there always is at least one other side of it
Let's just wait and see
