IPS TT V6 vs. cammed V8

Was wondering how an IPS twin turbo LFX V6 Camaro would do against an SS with a cam and headers and tune both autos or both manuals.. or just a full bolt on V8 with factory cam

It is going to depend on the cam. I mild cam and bolt on SS will probably make similar power to the IPS kit on a LFX. However, an aggressive cam will get the SS 500+ RWHP on an auto. You will need more than the IPS kit to get the LFX in that range.

yes it will outrun the ss with a cam. The only time you will see a Camaro SS with that aggresive of a cam is on the drag because it's not a good idea to have that wild of a cam for DD. I believe the kit will take you to 545hp plus if there is a need of power just set the boost higher. I doubt you will need anything beyond the 545hp though. Maybe at the strip but still

Hard to say one way or the other without knowing the exact mods and cam used, but there is a video here of a TT V6 taking on a cammed SS and pulling away from it, so I say yes its totally possible. The 500ish power and torque of a decent LFX TT V6 are nothing to balk at.

That said, there are some wicked cammed V8s out there as well.

If the SS is just bolt on, then I say for sure the TT V6.

Cammed V8 will take this one, theres a guy locally with a V6 and the STS TT kit and I slowly walked away from him on motor on spray he didnt even stand a chance. I know its not the IPF Kit but he put down around 440WHP.

STS doesn't make a twin turbo kit for the V6. I've also never seen a STS kit anywhere near 440 WHP on a V6. I think the V6 owner was feeding you a bunch of bull.

an aggressive cam can produce ~150 rwhp? that's pretty amazing. I thought they were good for maybe ~50ish, but then again, I never really looked into it.

VVT cams are insane.
