tune competition mode

is it possible to tune competition mode? if so, how do you "activate" it so that HPTuners sees it?

do you have to be in comp mode prior to connecting?
and what about when re-flashing?

thanks

Not sure if anyone has asked this or gotten a reply. Isn't some or at least a good portion in the BCM?

Never seen this done with HPT, Trifecta has this for LNF turbo Cobalts & GXP/Skys.

Maybe Vince can do it for the Camaros. vince@trifectaperformance.com

It was a switchable tune for the LNF, set up on cruise control button or comp mode.

Yes, it needs to comm with the BCM.

hmm...interesting.

if its a comms issue with the BCM...then shouldn't it be programmable via OBDII? is that just a feature/capability that HPT doesn't offer?

thanks for the responses

Yes. HPT only deals with the ECM afaik.

Vince is an ex Microsoft guru that delved off into his own world of zeros & ones. He rewrites the OS at the bit level to accomplish his needs. I've talked to him a lot developing E85 tunes for the LNF, very smart & nice guy.

What would you want to do to competition mode? Make more power in competition mode vs regular?

have the ability to fine tune the launch control. either through torque management, spark control, a combination of, or whatever other parameters are able to be manipulated to achieve minimal (or 0) wheel spin and maximum power output. not just during launch, but also when shifting between 1st & 2nd and 2nd to 3rd.

but still having the option to remove traction control and spin the tires at will.

hope that makes sense.

You can change the launch control in HPTuners. I have mine at 3k rpm currently.

Also set it up with the 'Vette No Lift Shift settings at 6200 rpm.

No adjustments on the fly though.

On the Trifecta LNF's he had you set launch control when you loaded the tune as I recall. Biggest advantage to Vince's dual tune was to change the turbo boost & timing tables. NA I really don't see much need for a dual tune myself.

not so much a dual tune...just the ability to adjust the parameters already set in there as OEM.

Ok I have a question. Is it possible to "tune in" competition mode and no lift shift on the LFX engines??
