Unfortunately, you guys won't see anything today. I'm still a few hours from home. I think the testing did show positive results on both the spacer and the ported intake though. Tune in tomorrow.

That's a little creepy.

I ended up not making it home last night, I stopped at a family member's house about an hour away. I just downloaded all of the run files from my email from the dyno place. All of the runs made yesterday to hold you over until I can come up with a fair comparison...

The only mods on the car were an Apex Catch Can, and a ZL1 lower airbox section. No cold air intake, no axle back, nothing added during the testing except the Extendolator spacer, and the JF Ported intake manifold.

Stock vs Spacer BEST 2 runs each

You can see it looks like both the stock, and with the spacer hit some knock retard in a couple places.. Gas was 92 OCT E10 from a Shell station in the middle of nowhere.

Stock vs Spacer WORST 2 runs each

This makes me wonder if the manifold cooling effect comes into play with the LFX spacer as does the LLT ICEolator. All of the spacer runs are damn near identical where as the stock ones take a dive after the 2nd run.

Best Stock VS Spacer only VS Spacer w/ Ported intake

I wasn't planning on showing the ported intake results here, but oh well. First time the ported intake has been on the dyno, WOW, after I installed it, the first time I laid into the gas pedal on the dyno I knew it was there, and I knew it was going to be good... The only bad thing is that I can't say that the intake was 100% bad ass by itself, as I installed it with the spacer and didn't have the time (or desire by this time in the day after all that had gone wrong) to test just the intake by itself.

None the less, the results from the days testing were nice to see.

As far as the spacer, as we've seen before, you (probably) will not gain any PEAK HP, but for most normal people that don't take their car over 5,000 rpms every shift, there is a NICE bottom end gain in both HP and TQ. As previously seen, you do lose a tiny bit of HP from 5-5.5k to 7k rpms, but I know I won't loose any sleep about losing a few hp up there.
I imagine a good tuner can EASILY get it back (if you're already tuned, no need to worry about voiding the warranty, if you aren't and don't want to be, then don't worry about the little loss)...

All runs were conducted between about 1:30pm and 3:30pm, weather conditions according to the dyno, 95.42-97.8 deg F, 29.61-29.63 in Hg, 17-18% humidity.

That's nice, especially the gains down low. Add a tone to this and you will really feel it. Thanks for all the work Jason, us V6 guys appreciate it.

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND that the ported intake, and Extendolator spacer combo get a tune. It runs pretty crispy IMO @ 14.0-14.2 at WOT @ ~6k rpms.
Could probably pick up some more power/tq with a tune optimized for the combo, and keep it on the safe side. The spacer by itself is safe, and shows a nice bottom end gain, but I feel like the top end loss that has consistantly been shown can be regained with a simple tune (probably just retard the EXH cam a few degrees will get the top end rev back).

That said, yesterday sucked. I called the dyno place Thursday to make sure were were still on for 10am, and I wasn't bumped/cancelled. No problems... Got there and there was a car on the dyno already... Seems to me they had bit off a little more than they could chew and scheduled an import club/group of friends to tune before I showed up... I arrived 10min prior to my appointment (left my house at 5:30 am, up since 4am)... They asked if I would be willing to come back at noon so they could finish the import cars they had booked... So I went to a coffee shop down the street to get breakfast... Came back at noon, import club still on the dyno. On the dyno at 12:15 made one run, Stabilitrak light and ABS light came on (always does on the dyno), but the dyno operator kept saying it wouldn't let him manually shift, and was shifting by itself... Disconnected the batt for a few min, finally the dyno operator talked me into unstrapping it, and driving it around while he ran another car... So I took off down the road and started calling people I thought could help me with this problem as I've never had it before and was 5hrs away from home. After a couple minutes of driving the Stabilitrak and ABS light went off.

I'd like to thank Aaron and Ryan @ GPI for taking my call when I was at my wits end trying to figure out the Stabilitrak / manual shifting problem that the dyno operator thought was an issue. They advised me how to write work around tune to keep it in one gear without down/upshifting... I went back and wrote the tune, but never needed it. Once the car was back on the dyno I told that operator that I wanted to try to run it myself before I messed with the tune (he wasn't wanting to listen to me when I was advising him on what to do regarding the stabilitrak/tap shift not working)... I didn't even need to tune the car, the guy was just an idiot that thought he knew better than I did on my own car. I got in and was able to run it with no problems. 3+ hours late into my original 10am appt, I was ready to get $#!7 done and get the hell out of there. I left the dyno place shortly after 3:30ish, and by that time traffic was so bad, I had managed to move 25 miles away from there in 1.5 HRS

Anyway, that was my day in a nutshell.
