The BTR Stage III cam is a killer cam with excellent driveability. That's the cam we use in our ZL-800/850 packages.

This is with bolt-ons and 28% lower pulley before and after the cam

Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.

If you factor in the extra boost and bolt ons- headers and CAI, etc., it really complements the cam, great flat curve. Looks like it was still pulling above 7K rpm!

Believe what you will I guess, but were not the kind of company to spit out false #s just to sell something. In fact, I advise against modifications all the time when I personally feel they are not worth the money. We're enthusiasts just like you who live breath and eat HP!

Before the cam it was making 14PSI and after the cam it was making 12PSI and running a lot more efficiently!

BTR PD Blower cams have been a Southwest Speed staple for some time....for good reason.

They, as well as other BTR Sticks, do great work for us here.

Jump on one if you can. You won't be disappointed.

GL!

So let me get this straight Tyler....
With nothing more than the cam swap you gained 125rwhp?

Is this cam valve train friendly on a daily driven car or more suited for occasional weekend fun?

What I'm really wanting to know is if this cam will force the need for regular adjustments needed to the valves and rods or is it a maintenance free motoring setup for the most part? I'm leaning toward the LS9 cam for easy hp and valve train friendly operation but I value any input on which BTR cam to go with as an option to get me to 600 hp at the wheels without building in a lot of heat from a too aggressive pulley swap to reach this goal.

I favor a setup for the road course and not so much for the 1/4 mile.

The only change we made to this car was our camshaft package with the BTR Stage III PD Blower Camshaft and tuning... I see it all the time on our builds and it isn't uncommon; I see other LSx shops with similar gains... This was on the same dyno (224xLC Dynojet).

We test every product we offer and share our results. You can take it for what it's worth but we'll be doing another JDP ZL-800 Track Spec (Road Course) Build very soon using the BTR Stage III PD camshaft in our package. Please feel free to call, email or PM me anytime with questions..

The Stage I and Stage II BTR camshafts are relatively easy on the valvetrain and the only maintenance would be valve springs every 15-20K. The important thing is to use the appropriate components and reliability pieces to ensure problem free enjoyment. You'll also want to have a good local tuner to dial everything in.

Please feel free to call, email or PM me anytime with questions. We're always happy to help everyone get the right parts the first time with proven hands on experience.

Kind regards,

Jordan Priestley

[QUOTE=ZO6 Bryan;7452185]I'll second that. BTR stg III will make big power and still idle smoother than other cams due to the 0 deg overlap.

http://www.briantooleyracing.com/pos...-camshaft.html

Can this ca be installed and used with no other items? eg. no need for springs, retainers, push rods...etc.

what length push rods are needed? how do you choose length?
