I don't necessarily think he's wrong, but this is purely speculation.

All it says in GM has not officially announced the Camaro reveal location. It will be there in Detroit. (pure speculation but much more evidence of this happening in Detroit)

key words in that article. "word on the streets", "I don't expect to see the car unvealed in detroit" which is 1 persons opinion. Not that I disagree with that, my hopes is that it still will be in Detroit. To many variables say otherwise. Then again, I've been wrong before, just ask my wife.

I'm going to Detroit during the show.. Mostly because of the show and then personal as well. If the car ends up being shown off in New York, I may just decide to visit the city at that time and go to that auto show as well.
I'm excited to see the 2016 Camaro and am very optimistic that GM will deliver. |

I don't think the C6 Camaro will be at Detroit either. On a side note does anyone know what platform the new CTS-V is built on? Same as the ATS-V and new Camaro? We will get to see the CTS-V in Detroit.

Maybe this guy is right, I have no idea...
But if he is right, this isn't the greatest move on the part of GM. The Detroit show is THE show. It has the attention of the world. The eyes of everyone interested in cars are focused on Detroit. The New York show is mainly for refreshes, variants and low-volume vehicles (e.g., whatever Opel du jour that GM is rebadging as a Buick). If the Camaro isn't at Detroit, GM ought to consider doing its own dedicated unveiling independent of any auto show. New York is okay for variants like Z/28, convertible, etc., but it's beneath the dignity of an all-new generation. Also, with the new Mustang selling relatively well, it's getting close to the point where GM needs to show its cards. Let's say that you're seriously considering a new Mustang but have been holding out to see the new Camaro. The longer they drag this out, the more people say, 'Screw it. I can't wait any longer.' I suppose that the counter-argument is that delaying helps the current-generation Camaro. And while it's true that unveiling the next generation will likely cost the current generation a few sales, I would argue that it's almost moot at this point as the decline has already happened even without the unveiling (e.g., see the November sales). |

The premise in the article is that because no hype is being generated by releasing info that the Camaro will be revealed is plausible, however, would leaking this info bring so many more folks to the show, specifically press folks?
My guess is...no, not for a premier show like Detroit. Everyone who is going is going regardless. Wishful guessing on my part i suppose. |

Ford and the ctsv/volt will have the press showing up. Not mentioning anything about the camaro is either a move to catch people off guard, or because there wont be a new camaro..
Which one seems more likely? |

I guess GM will release a small teaser picture before the reveal. So we will definitely know in the upcoming week if they will show the 6th gen in Detroid.

Thinking GM will try to catch us off guard that day. They'll introduce the new Volt and sometime after that the new Camaro will be introduced also. Just like the unveiling of the 14-15 car and then the Z28

2016 CAMARO WILL BE PRESENT I DETROIT after all.
Or at least, that would make sense if the rumours going around is true. GM dealers are clearing their inventory of Z camaros with the Z28 and ZL1 going for 60 and 50k.. I cant find any info onlime other than forum members and looking the prices up on ebay. What do you guys think? Have you heard about it? Last edited by Autonaut; 12-19-2014 at 05:47 PM.
