Radio without Navigation
I traded my 2014 RS convertible that had the 7" touch screen along with navigation. I picked up a 2014 SS/RS convertible that has the 7" touch screen but does not have navigation. My question is, can the navigation be downloaded after the fact? I asked my dealers service dept. and parts dept. Both looked at me like I was crazy for asking. They said I might be looking at spending about 1,500 dollars. I said I will buy as regular GPS first.

MyLink Navigation is about a $500 option. I think they're a bit off on the price.

I just spent $750 to add nav to my non-nav mylink at gen5diy.com. they reprogram a brand new GM nav radio so I can re-use my display that doesn't have the nav buttons. so I'll be missing the stock hard buttons on the outside but everything else works like stock with the onscreen buttons. it's a plug and play kit so everything works like oem. since they can reprogram, they change the setting to allow you to enter destination while moving.
if the dealer can do it, they'll need to replace the radio unit and the display because they can't reprogram them. and yea, you'll likely be around $1500+ after installation. |

I too got my non nav mylink upgraded to nav mylink via gen5diy, It’s the best way to go. U can also get a new faceplate if u want the nav /destination selection hard buttons, i chose to save money and use my current faceplate, new radio nav was reprogrammed by gen5diy and installation was easy using antenna splitter. everything u need is included. Nav works great.

Anything over 300 sounds like too much for nav, just use your phone or buy a quality dash nav system.

Just use Onstar for your navigation. Works just well.

Totally not worth it. I would use your money otherwise for a different nav.

I saw a youtube video of a audio company in florida that integrated nav into non-nav mylink systems but no idea what they charge to do it. Gen5diy is probably the best way to go.
