I'm not trying to argue with you and this is all you had to say because your mind is already made up. Happy modding bud.

If I was in the OP's position I would go with JRE. Nothing against the vendors here but JRE would be my choice because of their history and knowledge. If I didn't live across the continent and in another country I most likely would be there getting all my work done.

No I'm not trying to argue I'm just trying to understand. If I'm wrong tell me. How come that's a misconception?

Because if you go buy a $200 used tuner from someone, then your tune discounts go out the door. Don't forget to fill out the order page completely. There are extra charges for ported throttle body and headers last time I checked. Make sure you get everything added in there is all. I'm pretty sure it's not $150.

Also... It's always better to have the guy sit in your car and drive it. It doesn't matter what your level of mods is. I think that is the misconception litle88 is speaking of. You might get a perfect remote tune. You WILL get a perfect dyno/street tune if you go to the right person.

I'd check RPM out (https://www.facebook.com/RaceProvenMotorsports). Get you a real tune on the dyno. Fran and Bill run a top notch shop over there. I travel to their shop in DE about 1.5 hrs from me in Silver Spring, MD. Well worth the trip! You will not be disappointed!

had a jre tune when i first got my camaro. log and retuned with it 1 time . sold it got a dyno tune. ( knew the car had more potenial) for what i was wanting. was a decent tune but not for my liking. but gpi is a great guy has helped me a ton and seems to be producing some of the faster cars out there. but with ur mods not gonna be alot diff with a email tune.
but only so much u can do with out them having the car. dyno tune is def worth it no matter what u go with. even with a light bolton car a dyno tune makes a big diff then a email tune. not every car is the same and most email tunes r the same for every car with those type boltons. hard enough to get full power out of a car with a dyno . much less not see the car research other forums and places . thats a good bit of money to not be happy in the end. spend u a few days researching tuners on every forum u can get on.

My vote is go local to Frans96ss @ RPM.
Too many issues can occur with handheld tunes and have happened. Lot of the hand helds tune rich because they have too many variables and no live feed back, generic tune. I know some horrors from some hand held tooners and advise afainst it. Dyno tune = far superior, instant data feedback for perfected tuning per your application. Heed the feed back from little88 & thahemp and you will be in good hands.

I would agree. Go to Fran at RPM. Not far from you at all and you can get a real tune. I paid $250 for my DYNO tune. Just depends where you are at and who you go to.
I would much rather have a dyno tune vs handheld.

I'm sure this will throw some fuel on the fire of what is always a heated argument, but consider this. GM equipped the Camaro with a smart computer. That computer makes some adjustments to adjust to its environment, which in turn protects the Camaro from itself.
Older cars were dependent on being told what to do. You put the pedal down and you accelerated. With newer technology, the Camaro makes minor adjustments to parameters that affect engine operations. When you get a dyno tune, you're getting a tune designed to tell the engine how to operate with your new parts. The same is true of an email tune. A dyno tuner will correctly tell you that you'll get every ounce of power out of their tune. Of course, an email tuner will tell you that their experience with these engines gives them an insight into how to make the perfect tune for your car. Keep in mind that even a dyno tune is written by a person basically data-logging from a standstill. Because the computer adjusts a little, minor deviations in the tune based on local conditions or an imperfection will not be noticeable. If you were driving a 1000-hp racecar, the tune might require more delicate attention, but professional tuners here on Camaro5 are strong evidence that the vast majority of cars can be tuned remotely. In conclusion, I do believe a dyno tune by a quality tuner will produce the best results. As a guy with basic bolt-ons, I went with an email tune from a quality tuner.
