I had a rattle can matched to the OEM paint code and added the emblem, no problems so far.

Is it important to make sure your emblem won't get hot and fall off and damage something, especially if tracking it?

I was paranoid about that and checked it constantly. I don't track, but did drive all last year (that was last winters project while the car was hibernating) - the emblem didn't lift at all. I did follow installation / prep instructions to the letter.

A buddy made an analogy to emblems baking on the car's exterior all summer... they don't fall off. I suppose if I did track and was worried about running hotter than normal, I might wrap it with painters tape on track days.

Yeah, I never thought about stuff like that until now. Did you just use automotive glue?

Nope, the emblems come with 3M double sided tape pre-installed.

I went ahead and plastidipped. The red is perfect match with the red hot- I couldn't like it any better. Next I'll be spraying the coil caps with red enamel.

The red plastidip is more flat (less glossy) than the OEM red hot, right?

You just use tape to keep the sides silver?

Yep! Just taped off the brushed silver parts on the ends and painted the mid section. Looks amazing in person. Just can't wait to get my cold air intake on Wednesday!
