Good Street Tires

I'm buying some new 20x9 and 20x10.5 rims and trying to decide what rims that will have good wet traction as I live in Louisiana. I also will be pushing around 500 rwhp through a stalled car. What tires do you recommend for front and rear that will help me get good traction on the street. thanks

I was thinking about doing nittos 555 275/40/20 up front and nittos 555R 305/35/20 in the rear but I'm worried that they will throw some lights on? Or invos good tires?

You wont have good traction with the 555r in the rain, plus they will wear out quickly.

I would go with the invos if you want traction in the rain.

Yea I'm gonna see if I can maybe pick a used set of invos from another member to see how they do. I appreciate the information.

Invos might work pretty well, I would be surprised if they hold 500 RWHP though. I have a nearly worn out set on my car making 420 RWHP and they will hold in first, but I can tell they're spinning some.

They do great in the rain though and even in the cold. I would avoid any drag radial, they really aren't intended for daily driving, but they will grip for sure.

I would suggest Michelin Pilot Super Sports. In my opinion there is no better tire for a daily driver high horsepower car that wont see snow or very low temps(LA).

They don't have those for the rear, do they?

The closest size to stock they make is 275/35R20 which would be a shorter sidewall.

I think they make a 255 wide front that might work also on the front if you didn't want to run 275 all around.

With 500whp I'd steer clear of invos ... If not some sort of radial(DR) I'd only go with 888s or PP's.

Really does depend on what your end goal is but with 500 RWHP you will be very pressed to get any traction on the street without a DR on the rear! I am running the Nitto NT5's on the rear with the "stock" on the front and, unless I use "comp" mod on the street, I will smoke the tires off through second gear and I am at 434 RWHP.

If you drag race your car stay away form the Invos. I took mine off the next day after a terrible time trying to get traction at the strip. Pilot super sports will hold over 500 if you heat them up and are great to daily drive on (besides snow but thats any performance tire)
