Boy my SP headers should be paying off then, a serious bargain for hp/money ratio.

ps. what was the outcome of the ZO6 you told us you were going to smash?

I believe you op. My buddy with a 13' 1le dynod at 446 whp and 450 tq with a cai, npp exhaust, ptb. I base lined at 414whp and 389 wtq with Lt headers intake ptb and 3.91's. BTW the gears won't show on dyno the weird thing is I beat him bad at track

You don't need any time slips, this is the internet and everything is true. Get with the program already.

He declined the race, even just a fun run. Whatever no big deal to me. I'll post the video if he ever decides he wants to.

It's hard to have a fair race on the street, or your "private runway" someone always gets a jump. You need to go to the track and get some time slips. Then you'll know if you have a factory freak or just a dyno freak. I wouldn't put so much faith in a dyno anyway.

I haven't had my car on a dyno yet since the upgrade but running it at the track tells me where I'm at power wise, I'm running a consistent 12.40@114. I want to dyno it just for fun but it won't really matter what the results are unless we do a baseline then dyno tune it or something. Those dyno days are pretty much so guys can brag to their friends about how much horsepower they have.

Nice running V6! You are probably making more power than the OP. With that 114 MPH you have a potential 11 second car there. But it is very hard to get the most out of turbos.

And so far the fastest recorded bolton 1LE has only run 12.3 as opposed to the 11.316 record for non 1LE SSes. But to be fair very few 1LEs are run at the drag strip. Also to be fair those 1LE dynos are not translating into speed.

sounds to me like OP needs to verify what gear ratio the dyno people used?

his numbers look good... but if they used the SS gear ratio that seems to explain it.

Hard to believe the variation would be this much. engine is just an air pump. the biggest variability is probably how well the cylinder rings broke in... better sealing = no blow-by = more power.

I'm no professional but this sounds like a case of engines being broken in properly.

So your saying only one guy on this forum broke his engine in properly?

I think it's what others are saying. He was tuned with 3.45 gears instead of 3.91. Because if I do 400hp/ with the 13% torque multiplication gain I get slightly better numbers than the OP.. 400 x .13= 52. 452hp

3.91 Performance Gear Kit Package offers a lower (higher numerically) ratio rear drive gear, which will increase effective rear wheel torque multiplication in 2010-2013 SS Camaros. 13% TM increase with a manual transmission (standard 3.45 ratio) equipped vehicle, and 20% TM in an automatic (standard 3.27 ratio) equipped vehicle.

Thanks man, 11's are definitely my current goal.

Take a look at this, it has some very good explanation on how dyno's work and the correlation between lower gears and actually lower hp results.

http://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamomete...o-numbers.html

If gear ratio had to be entered, who's to say somebody couldn't run in 3rd instead of 4th and put down higher numbers. It is complicated for me to explain, but the dyno takes into account engine RPM and roller speed and basically calculates the gear ratio on its own. So many variables such as smaller diameter tires, rear end ratio, transmission ratio would make it nearly impossible to calculate in a timely fashion if the computer didn't do it for you.
