Question Tires and wear

How many miles are you guys getting from a set of Eagle F1 tires?
I am looking into, and probably buying a used 2013 ZL1 from a local car dealer, it only has 8,600 miles and pretty much needs a complete new set of tires.

ONE of my Goodyear tires was shot at 30,000 km's, the rest looked about 3/4 worn out.
Looked like a bad, or damaged tire to me. The Center rib-line was completely worn away, 1/2 way around and still visible the other 1/2 way around.
It looked the tire wasn't round, or mounted wrong, or damaged. Maybe broke a rib or belt or something. Never had enough vibration to even think about balance.

I'd never buy those Goodyear's again.

So, I just got me a whole new set of Pirelli's, I like them so far.
WAY Better on wet rounds, seems to have lots of grip. I can't tell yet, but I suspect they'll be way better in the cold. The F1's were like hockey pucks some days when it was cold.

In my case, the "stickiness" of the Goodyears were gone after about 10,000 miles. The tread was still very good, but I would slide my front tires under moderate cornering. I am not sure if this is due to the crappy roads here in San Antonio.

I switched to the Michelin Pilot Super Sports and they handle much better. The grip is staying much longer than the GY.

my rear tires were gone @ 12k. The front set are still pretty decent @ 17k now. all I don't see how you can own a zl1 and not go through a rear set by 10- 14k , unless you drive it like grandpa.

I am at 20,000 miles and my second set of goodyears are gone. If you have any fun with the car don't expect much more than 9k miles out of them.

Thanks for the feedback...makes sense now.
These tires are DONE, and if I stomp on it, the entire rear swings out like I'm on ice!
I need to choose a good set of tires for the road track, that will also be good for weekends, and family Sunday's with my 2 boys!

Up here in Canada where temperatures are colder I found I got around 13,000 miles on the rear. I don't burn the tires but last Sept/Oct it was colder out and I found I was sliding around a fair bit and burned off a lot of tread -

Id never buy these tires again, they should be illegal up here in Canada as they are super dangerous below 55F

I think most here will agree that the Michelin Pilot Super Sports are the best out there but they are pricey, about $450/tire possibly less if you can find a buy somewhere.

But they are top shelf. There are other good tires at lower prices but I don't think you can beat the Michelins for overall use.

Since you live in Florida and don't have to worry about cold temps you should go back to the original Goodyear F1's. You can't beat the grip without going to a race tire.

No way would I go back to the OEM Goodyear F1's...Went through 2 sets of tires in under 17,000 miles. I do still have the 2nd front set on, but I will be replacing them by the end of the year for sure....I could not turn the corner without the tires breaking loose. I always felt like I was on ice with them.
