Dual Stripe Heat Extractor Installed Over a Whipple

There is a DYI for the NON Positive Displacement Blower Cars.
Thought I would share the results of putting one over a Whipple .
Also haven't seen anyone who added the stripes on the vent.

Even Moving the vent back a few inches wasn't enough to clear the Body and Throttle body area.
The area under the second and third Hex section has approx. 1/2 to 3/4 inch of material being ground off.
Moving the Hole in the Hood forward by an inch may have reduced the amount of mesh being ground for clearance, but I had to start somewhere .

There is no way any usable amount of the rain drain was going to fit,
so I added an aluminum closeout panel to improve the looks.
Haven't finished yet but needed a break so decided to post current progress.

That looks pretty good. I want to do this, but I don't want to have to modify it. I was thinking about ordering the SLP vent which will fit over my SLP supercharger, but it looks like cheap plastic with a big logo on the top.

Thanks

Curious , what was your impressions going from Whipple to Twins ?
Was that a single change or other items at the same time ?

I enjoyed the Whipple more, but I never got a chance to turn up the boost with the twins. Broke the posi in the 9" kit I had when I took it to the track. Never got a quarter mile run in. With the manual trans, the twins sucked to launch. Fell on it's face until it hit boost. Nothing a launch controller couldn't fix. The Whipple is much better for show. No one could even tell I had the turbos. Lots of piping with the turbo setup too.

Looks really good with the stripes added! Definitely different from the normal vents. What are you going to do about water getting in though?

Its not my Daily Driver so its garaged most of the time.
Don't think rain is a problem when the car is rolling down the road.

But I'm trying to fashion a Quick install Plexi cover.
So if i'm on a trip and need to park outside or putt around town it could be closed off.
Work in progress.

Very nice. Looking forward to what you come up with since I may have to do the same if I go with the 2014 vent over hex vents. The 2014 vent will fit over the vararam but not sure how the drip tray will work.

Has anyone tried this with a magnuson supercharger yet? Only reason I ask is I have one sitting here. Just worried it won't fit.

Would need some custom fitting , similar to the Whipple.

SLP makes one that fits over their Supercharger , might check it out.

Hey guys do you know if the SLP Part #: 620032 will work without "modifications"? They devised it to be shallower to accommodate thier supercharger on 2014 + models. I have a TVS 2300 and I'm installing it on a 2011 hood.
