I haven't even had it a month and already keyed.
It's sad that there are lowlifes even on military bases that don't respect other peoples property... I felt the scratch and it's very deep. I'm thinking of just claying and compounding it for the time being and seeing what that does. It's about 2 feet long and only is only there in the fender area. What do you guys think it would cost to get it repainted and fixed? Does anyone recommend a good dashcam just in case this happens again?

To repair this damage you would have to tint and blend. That is painting a portion of the adjoining panel so the repair is not evident. It would probably cost about $450 to $500. It is a shame that this happened to your car, some people just don't have any respect for others property.
Let's hope that you are able to enjoy your new car without any other problems. |

Sad, i've only ran into this crap once with my ride and caught the ass red handed on the work camera was one of our shipper's let's say he doesn't have a job anymore. Repaint for that area is gonna be costly honestly looking at a few hundred bucks.

That totally sucks. I know how you feel -- had my 1973 Camaro keyed in the mid 1980's just days after I had it repainted. The kid keyed the black vinyl roof too. It was a total rustbucket before the body work and paint, so I hadn't added comprehensive onto my insurance yet. I had the paint fixed, but the vinyl top had those scratches in it until I sold it.

It's too bad that people are jealous and disrespectful. Especially to one of their own. I just had my DD keyed a few weeks ago. Mine isn't too deep, I think I can buff it out.

this makes me angry, send her to the body shop and get it fixed right, if not it will bother you everytime you look at it.
Thank you for your service! |

bad part is this happened on base. last time I checked, you need a military id to get in. so its a good guess that another service member did this. which, in fact, makes it worse

Sorry OP, don't mean to laugh.... that sucks. What's even worse, is once you get it fixed, some idiot (probably the same guy) will do it again. Not really a whole lot you can do about it.

Any chance you're an MTI? I could see a prior trainee who entered pipeline training at Lackland, getting back at ya. Otherwise there are so many young Airmen there, it would be hard to know who and where. Best of luck with the repairs.
