How will this affect my trade in?
My car was recently hit while parked in a parking lot. It didn't do much damage however I'm looking to trade my car in for a 15' 1LE and I don't want to pay to have the bunker fixed if it won't deprecate it much. The paint is mostly just scraped off with the exception of a dent under the headlight. Of course they didn't leave a note and the store doesn't have cameras

Have you try having a detailer wet sand it and polishing it out for ya?

Off topic, but I have those exact same shoes on my feet at this very moment. Mine are all grey/white though. :P

It wont affect you that much had the same issue except mine was not as noticeable. Traded it in and got exactly what I wanted and traded it for a 2SS.

Take it in a night.
Also just touch up damage with aerosol spray paint. Won't affect trade in imho |

Is/Are the scratch(es) through the clear-coat?
If no, just buff out. If yes, you would need to talk to someone who could inspect it in person probably but, decent change it can just be wet-sanded out and look good as new...Depending on the dmg, obviously. But yes, it will abso-****ing-lutely affect the trade value...Are you kidding me? We love when people come in with scratches that can just be buffed out, or worst case wet sanded...The average person has no idea as to the cost of that kind of stuff... If you do business with a local dealer, they can probably take a look at it and get you taken care of for pretty cheap...

Get a paintless dent repair guy to get the dent out, if you want...Although, based on the rest of the dmg, I suspect you could probably work it out on your own using a heat gun/hair dryer and some muscle... I would try buffing out what they can first...I can't REALLY tell from the pic (i'll go zoom in here in a moment bc now I'm curious)...but a lot, if not most, of that looks like it could be taken care of with the proper buffing-disc. Couple more thoughts, as well... Again, it WILL affect the trade-in-value...ADDITIONALLY, reporting it to an insurance company, or taking it to the wrong garage WILL show on the car-fax, which will ALSO affect the trade-value. As I suggested, take it to a good full-service detail-shop and have them see if they can buff it out. Make note of what they can't, and then find someone to wet-sand the rest back to normal. I'm not trying to be a dick here, but I've been dealing with this stuff on an almost-daily basis for years now... Edit: After zooming in %250, it looks to me like all of the stuff in the middle (I think 3-5 marks?) should be able to get worked out fairly easily. Toward the top and bottom I couldn't tell, but it looks like it may have actually gone through the clear/paint and is down to the plastic bumper..."

I would actually ask the dealer you are working with. I have been told at times to fix it (hood paint on a car we were thinking of trading in) and other times not (Body damage to my wife's Tahoe). I guess it depends on the relationship you have with the dealer and the condition of the rest of the car. If the thing is perfect except for this, might be worth it. If its not, then it probably isn't worth getting it fixed.
