Where does you clutch pedal start to catch
I just purchased a 2013 ZL1 about two weeks ago and I've noticed the clutch pedal seems to catch kind of high in its travel. Is this normal for ZL1's? In 1st gear leaving a stop light, sometimes I get a little bit of shudder from the clutch but it is not slipping or shuddering in any other gear at WOT.
Is there any way to adjust the clutch or is it fixed since it is hydraulic? Also, I can hear some whirring or maybe exhaust noise that seems to be coming from behind the gauges in the console under load or firewall. Not sure if this is just exhaust noise or transmission noise. It's not terribly loud but I do hear it. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thanks for the help. |

The clutch pedal in my 1le catches high in the travel. I believe that is normal for these cars.

The shudder comes from hot spots that formed on the flywheel from slipping the clutch too much. I've done it to my last 2 clutches from drag racing trying to get the best times possible. It can go away over time depending on how bad it is and is mostly just annoying. I haven't noticed any negatives from it.

You'll like the high clutch pedal when you find you only have to push it half way down on a no lift shift.

Thanks for all the replies. The chattering isn't too bad. It is gone if I let the clutch out a little faster. It will just take some getting used to vs my 2002 Z06 I had.

I have the same problem, right from the very beginning and I was original owner. I don't think this car likes you to engage the clutch too slowly, chatters too much. Drives me crazy too, and doesn't always happen either.

I've found that I had to learn the clutch pedal when I got mine. It does kind of catch on the high side, but after awhile you'll learn the pedal and how to minimize the harsh shifting and stalling. The first day with my ZL I must have stalled it at least 5 times (I was a novice at manual shifting), but after some driving and practice I learned the right spots of the clutch pedal and shifts.

I recently reached my break-in milestone and am now able to drive it like I stole it. So I tried taking it to around 6K on the tach and shifting and let's just say my first shift wasn't the best. Not sure if I was surprised at the power or what, but definitely need to get the clutch to gas sync down a little better, or just not fear the NLS and get confident it will always work.
